That really helps. 4in is A LOT. That’s like half stock height. I’m on AZ and the rocks have life and mind of their own at times and crawl around doing summersaults.
Maybe I’ll just stick to the plates to protect the fuel lines and such… and the other so it’s even.
They are supposed to be no...
How much do they lower it? Is it drastic? I have a lift and don’t wanna totally negate it. But then again, those dang exposed important bits behind the evap spook me on many normal AZ trails. It’s rocky everywhere.
I was looking more at the JCR front plate, and it looks like it has a bit of geometry to it? That could add some buffer and strength over the flat OEM. Not to mention maybe they are using tougher steel?
just not clear. On that part.
I do know I’ve whacked the fuel plates a couple times pretty...
Hey. We get snow too! I think that’s what it’s called. The white flakes that fall from the sky and disappear into another dimension when they land?
haha. I for one am looking forward to maybe getting some of this kit next year. Just gotta figure out which pieces. For sure the two floor skids...
please make sure I don’t have to wait 6mo to get mine hahaha. I want special treatment. They always told me I was special….. they also did this weird thing with their fingers when they said it. Not sure what that means. Ooooo. Squirrel!
my only damage was on the passenger side pan. Luckily my felt is still GTG. So far. Same basic setup it sounds. I’m looking forward to seeing this one come to fruition.
@JcrOffroad ill do you one better. Here are the install instructions for that bumper plate. It has snaps. Already worked as a “notification alarm” and kept my bumper in tact a couple times...
@Escape2Bronco got it right. I can get you some pics. On my badlands it shares the front 4 bolts of theOEM steel plate (I’m badlands). I already have the evap coverage in badlands, but the fuel lines for some reason ford decided cam just hang out down there.
Also liking the idea of that...
Awesome to see someone finally doing this! Quick couple of technical questions tho.
What are they made/going to be made of and what kind of clearance loss is there. It seems it may be significant.
And lastly, I run a front bumper skid already and it looks like that is still a “blank” on...
From what is out there, you are not far off the mark… however it isn’t as bad as it seems if you look at the situation without comparing it to other vehicles.
For what our BS is intended to do, the stuff is out there. Maybe not a lot of diversity of choice, but it’s there. Front skid, lift and...
I’ve got the plate on my badlands. Dealer had no issue. They had to remove two. On BL they have to remove the factory plate anyway.
Saved my liquid bits once already I think. Could have just been a thrown rock. But it has a mark now and I did hear a bell sound on the last trail :-).
it does...
i was trying to find that post for the OP. Good find.
I wish someone would do something around this. A badasses bumper with recovery points or something. It’s kind of a shame to have to loose them or weaken the bar.
I found one that had pictures showing the recovery points still there, but I...
have you been on the freeway more? What trim? I’ve had both 1.5 and 2.0.
I can tell you that I do see drastic differences in mileage…. Depending on how much freeway I do. Which isn’t much since I still work from home these days.
that sounds about what my split was in my OB I had first. It...
Ok. I’m liking the idea. I never liked the black/grey? Color of the hooks. But I’m liking that tie in.
the problem is the quasi finality of it because I am lazy and only want to do it once. I’m a tad afraid it wouldn't look as cool on my iconic silver. It was that or OJ White. Good thing my...
