I was figuring there was a female socket to plug into, I'm hoping someone takes the plunge and orders that unit to see if the footwell ambient light will work in a plug-and-play sort of way, and what kind of Forscan mods may be needed (if any, I'm sure there are.)
I also was curious about the...
Ambient Light Cup Holder Installation
This is the method I used to install the newest generation Ford Escape cup holder with built-in ambient lighting into my Outer Banks. It's a fairly simple procedure, but this is the way it should be done in the quickest and most efficient manner. This is...
I just looked at my phone tray to make sure I'm not crazy, I don't have a light in that area. The other two sources would've been the gear selector and the G.O.A.T. Mode selector, I didn't want to touch those at all. If it turns out this way is drawing more power than the wires are able to...
I was hoping you were going to attempt it first! I have fairly mild winters where I live, so I figured I'd give it a shot using your idea and wiring diagram.
ABOUT THAT, I actually removed the ambient light assembly for easier access to splice into it. It's just a light with a pigtail and a 3-pin connector. I'm wondering if the non-Outer Banks trims might have the female connection that the pigtail plugs in to. I'll have to get a picture of where it...
So, had a warm day where I felt like tackling the project. It turned out to be easy enough to figure out!
I'll make a detailed write-up probably tomorrow, but the gist of it was I bought some 20awg wire, wired it to the ambient light assembly under the passenger side dash, and voila! It will...
That was my situation, slightly marked up. Of course there were other used cars and cheaper new cars available, but how could I pass up a Bronco Sport?
I'm curious about the number of Badlands vs other trims broken down by state. In my area of Colorado, it seems to be something like 30-40% of...
That's funny, I was just thinking about this today! I'll order the part and take a look next week, I was waiting for someone to figure out a good source to tap into. Makes sense to try the footwell light.

2022 Outer Banks
Just hit 10,000 miles since April
I've only ever owned old, used cars, so it's hard for me to compare, but I fricken love this thing! Loved the look as soon as I saw it advertised a few years ago, looks like an updated version of the Escape I was driving.
These are from about a month ago on the top of Pikes Peak in the Colorado Springs area. Lived here for 20 years and I'd never gone up there. I'm not a typical Colorado guy.
Took off my dealer badge on the right side of the hatch, used my FordPass Rewards to get an Outer Banks decal and put it where the dealer badge was.
Outer Banks Decal
I think you'll wanna wait until you can make a model of the mounting points, a couple are depressed back into the void space a couple inches and they're not in any sensible position.

OK, I got what I hope are alright pictures of the rear passenger cargo panel where the subwoofer is. I made a little model roughly the size of that small Pioneer subwoofer, and placed it where I think a viable option would be for it. I think you'll still need to get creative mounting it, but it...
I'll get a picture of that, the factory sub mounted and unmounted, and the factory amp location on the other side. That downfiring sub looks like a great idea, I think mounting it to the floor would be the best option anyway. Hopefully it fits, I'll even make a cardboard box model of that sub...
Sure, it'll be a couple days but I'll add some to the first post. It was the only modification I had to do, everything else fit and wired together perfectly.
Alright, for anyone wondering, I used the Axxess interface to bypass the B&O factory amp, I just had to cut a slot with my Dremel into the Axxess' female connector so the male connector tab could fit into it. I also had to select "2020 - 2022 Escape" on the Axxess app when I was setting it up...
Has anyone successfully bypassed the factory amp using an audio interface? (I hope I'm even saying that right.)
I over estimated my abilities with car audio and didn't take into account the A²B system that Ford uses. There were definitely some lessons learned, so hopefully someone learns from my...
TL;DR - First car was a 1984 Bronco II, plus the last 5 years of owning a 2004 Escape, this was a totally natural fit and I'd been geeking over the Bronco Sport since they were announced in I believe 2020.
When I first heard about the Bronco and Bronco Sports and saw what they looked like...
