That is what I'm thinking, but, alas, can't prove shit myself, not mechanically savvy enough. What I will do is pull it from them and take it elsewhere. See what another garage thinks.

I have the exact same chip in the same place. Did the dealership ever do anything for you in the end? Out of curiosity do you ever put your wipers up if expecting snow or freezing rain?
Yep, it simply seems to be that other turbo vehicles (and certainly ones I've owned) have done a better job at reducing how much of that noise makes it into the cabin. Too bad.
Since I am not noticing any significant effect on performance it may very well be normal as some of you have said. Nevertheless, at some point I am going to take it in to have it looked at, if anyone else does please report the outcome here. I will obviously do the same.

Ottawa-based here. Just put in my order for a Badlands with the Badlands package and a cargo management system. Anticipted arrival in about 3 months, probably a bit more. Will look just like this one:
