From what I've read the future of vehicles may follow the British expression, "horses for courses". There's a fair expectation that the number of vehicles per household will increase over the next 20 years, each having a designated purpose. While we wait for the 'future' to arrive we'll be in an...
Hard to say just who Carmaker1 actually is...but he was definitive that several vehicles would carry the Bronco name & stallion. 2-3 months ago. You could look up his posts.
By coincidence I was on a Toyota site this week looking at whether the 2022ish 4Runner might offer a 2-door to counter...
I'm assuming we're in a news blackout till at least mid-january...as companies know attention spans get pretty short during the holidays. Why don't you get yourself authorized to throw out some crumbs for us during that time. You could even post in realll small font :-)
A month ago when Carmaker1 threw out a timeline I was kinda hoping that had some UAW fudge factor...maybe we'll see stuff sooner. On the other hand, Chrispy kinda hints of several things not being finalized with Bronco.
Maverick (which I've read is actually Bronco Sport) sure doesn't seem to be...
But it IS infringing on your bank account. This is an emotional issue that has to be viewed more like an actuary would assign dollar damages after a plane crash or the 911 attacks.

In effect, Ford is taxing Bronco buyers ~$5M/year to provide this safety feature (~$20/per X # Wrangler units sold). I can think of numerous other safety features that Could save lives:
built-in defibrillators
EpiPen & NARCAN in every glovebox
breathalyzer/ignition interlock
I'm sure you...
You can't trump someone's personal experience with tragedy - so I won't try.
But you are correct about the complexity of life today. In addition to the 'clutter' you reference, there's tons more known today about human physiology - and the abnormalities that small percentages of the population...
Here's the trendline....something gets invented...automakers & the government go for coffee...new stuff gets mandated in ALL vehicles....prices rise...Ford stock goes to $9 and bonds are downgraded to 'junk'.
One could opine that the government doesn't want us driving in the first place.
That'd be my bird dog, nose out the opened window as I go for a latte. I would not own a car that does that.
Facial recognition software can also scan the driver & see if maybe he/she has the 'black ass' that day too. Just how far do you want technology intruding into your life?
