In this picture it looks like the Corsair, (black) and the escape (red) which are indeed sisters (m-plates as well) so they of course look very similar. I guess the Bronco "maverick" makes it triplets lol.
For what its worth (this has been noted before, but I'll reiterate for you) The 2021 Bronco will be the first generation you see of the NEW ranger, not the current ranger. The one you test drove was an update, albeit significant, of the global platform which was launched in 2011.
Inflation is only part of the equation, safety as you rightfully pointed out is another huge investment, and lastly as others have pointed out you have environmental regulations both in the product and manufacturing that drive costs (labor costs too, sheesh)
All that might bring it about equal...
**Looks at the Mustang GT-350/500 digital intros** "yea what a poser, this vehicle certainly cant perform on the track or strip"
Well that was easy because the old jeeps kinda sucked A$$ unless they were up fitted with GM/Ford hardware... They had practically nothing but affordability and...
Hard to tell from this angle but at a glance I don't think so, doesn't look quite boxy enough. The grill/headlights for example look more car like. Might not be a Ford at all
I would clarify that "Limits" is subjective here. The limits of my 6.9 liter V8 for example are not any better than that of the 2.7 ecoboost. Smaller engines can have amazingly high limits, so don't count it out on that alone, the part of the equation you are probably getting at is cost. A small...
This is correct lol, we offer three power options for the commercial segment (diesel) and the most popular BY FAR is the 270 hp which is also our lowest power option. It has most of the same hardware as the class leading engine but it is intentionally detuned. We suspect that commercial buyers...
I know its not "Bronco" but this thread is here already! For anyone interested, the numbers were released. The 6.7-liter Power Stroke V8 is rated at 475 hp @ 2,800 rpm and 1,050 lb-ft of torque @ 1,600 rpm...
There may only be 4 visible in the picture but if you look at the arrangement it looks like typical 60degree spacing for a 6 bolt pattern. Which makes sense as 4 bolt patterns are reserved for everything from go-carts to compact cars, at least nowadays.
I don't know what that is but it isn't the "baby bronco", definitely not related to the escape. It is much larger than any 4 bolt vehicles I am aware of at Ford. Are you sure it is a Ford? If not, my first guess would be a Toyota or Nissan...
Edit: yes those are 6 bolt axles, not 4 so that...
This is for 2020, however the previous generations of 6.7 were at least 2000 bar which is nothing to shake a stick at! Same with the current offered Cummins and Duramax.
It is! They advertise it as 36k psi/2500 bar. The fuel system on modern diesels can get up to about a 3rd the cost of the engine! Everything downstream of the high pressure fuel pump is steel, no cast parts. The injector holes themselves are riding the edge of being as small as possible. Being...
True, but you can reference GM's HD 10 speed for a good benchmark. These are very similar architectures, obviously each OEM is handling their own manufacturing and calibration but the core design is shared. I wouldn't be surprised if they tweaked the ratios a bit, but overall they should be very...
Having worked on this engine actually (Obviously I cant give you guys any numbers...) I can tell you that it will be awesome! Couple things that were released that nobody is really talking about are the higher pressure fuel injection, 2500 bar (crazy!), and the steel pistons. The higher...
