This was my exact thought. I also fear this with my big Bronco. I have a first day reservation badlands. I am getting there the second it gets off the truck to make sure no one is taking it for a spin.
I predicated everything by saying “take this with a grain of salt”. All I did was provide dimensions based on a calibration of the rim size. If I need to adjust it slightly I will at work. But like I said, all the thrown on body parts makes it an unknown. If you have the capabilities of...
So I rescaled it using the rim on the rear axle and now I think my eyes are starting to play tricks on me. The tire in the front seems to be bigger than the one in the back. Could just be the angle but they have different dimensions.
Anyways.. after re-calibrating to the back rim I found the...
I used a program called Bluebeam for this. It's great for construction drawings that I use on a daily basis. However, the drawings are obviously complete perpendicular when I am measuring them.. this photo could be at a slight angle which yes... would throw things off slightly. I dimensioned the...
17-18" variance over the span of the 170-180" vehicle is just that.. A difference of 10". So if we want it to be accurate it does matter unfortunately. I'll look into the Escape and Ranger rims to see if I can find a match.
This is perfect. If someone with better knowledge could provide the known dimensions of the rims and or wheels I can get us taken care of with dimensioning purposes.
If someone can provide me with a profile view and and a known dimension on the vehicle I can calibrate it on my computer and post my findings. I can do this for the frankenranger or artist rendering. Only thing that could be "known" on a rendering is likely a tire or rim used on another vehicle.
Ahh, okay, I misunderstood what you meant. In that case, I'd still prefer it to be able to stick to the gate and swing up. This is just a personal preference as parking on a hill or in tight areas has made it harder to access the back for me in the past.
True but it requires much more power to lift the tire upwards than to swing it to the side. I for one would love to have the ability to open it like a standard liftgate but would be surprised if they went that route.
