It's just fancy auto-complete more or less. If someone else had the same problem and wrote an accurate description then cool. Otherwise it will invent "facts" to make you happy.
Yup, and restaurants in town failing to lock their garbage away and even the occasional nutter who actively feeds them. We had a grizzly eating a neighbour's tulips last year which focused everyone's attention. Fortunately she decided to head back up the mountain with her cubs after a hearty...
We love our Badlands. It replaced a Golf Alltrack and it’s got more pep than that did, but less body control. It’s totally safe, not about to fail an elk test, but you just need to temper your enthusiasm through the winding curves. The Golf felt like it could handle a chunk more power, the...
Wet roads in summer after a hot spell -> diesel, oil and assorted other stuff gets freed up from the road matrix and things get slippy. Dad always told me to take it easy in these circumstances and as with so many things he was exactly right.
A 1986 Fiat Uno 60S in 1987. 58 crazy horsepower from the country of Ferrari and well, Fiats. It was red, it did 91.2 mph (notably on one occasion for about 100 miles from Uni back home tucked in behind a Ford Escort doing 91.1 mph and refusing to let me by.
It had a problem towards the end of...
It has a "vision of the future, from 1980" vibe and as such I'm in the meh camp. I'm also reminded of the possibly Europe-only VW Polo Harlequin, sorry Harlekin, which was an abomination.
Thanks to everyone for their help, I'm off to make an advanced remote tailgate release device for activation of dashboard button from the rear cabin - or a long stick with a rubber tip, to the less technically minded.
Aha! Different fob. Both of ours look like this, without the tailgate graphic. Double-pressing that from outside the car, with the car locked, performs a remote-start. Looks like they gave with one hand and stole with the other.
Our Bronco Sport Badlands Sasquatch 2025 does not open the tailgate with two presses on any of the fob buttons from inside. It unlocks, but doesn't release - you still have to manually open the tailgate with the external handle. All buttons on the fob tried with fast and slow two-presses...
Sadly ours is a 25. Darn.
Seriously though, I really hate powered lift/tail gates. Heavier, slower, something else to go wrong, if they’re operated with a magic foot movement they rarely work. And the only positive reason for them (too many bags in arms to operate manually) is a better reason...
Plot thickens. I'm reluctant to get my wife to try it again (life would not be worth living). Maybe it's a 2025 difference? I'll be reunited (with wife and car) later so I'll try it (subtly, without letting her know :) )
I
Thanks. I think that just unlocks it rather than releases it. I suggested that operation to her last night and nothing happened (car was already unlocked). I’ll confirm one way or another when I get to the campsite later today.
EDIT: can confirm, she's tried again whilst being considerably...
I’ve let her know, thank you so much. I thought I’d memorized every bit of the car but I must have missed that panel. I knew the lights were there but not the other controls. Thanks again!
I've done a quick search here and in the manual, no joy. Is there a way to open the tailgate from inside the vehicle? My wife is on a camping trip, sleeping in the car, and she can't find a way out other than via the side-doors. Not the end of the world, but she'd like to emerge into the SUV...
Since this thread has come back to life: I use a Thule Epos 2 with Lights in the 2" on the Badlands. In no way reasonably priced, but works really well and is legal to avoid any imperial Mountie entanglements regarding number plates.
Here it is in trunk access mode with an eMTB and a...
A Levo eMTB, a Scott Genius MTB, a Scott Solace road bike, a Rad Runner 2 cargo ebike and too much gardening stuff. Currently a Tesla Model 3 Performance and our old Alltrack. Next month a Porsche Macan EV 4S will replace the Alltrack and the Tesla and the BS will finally get to go inside at night.
