Got mine fixed today.
The dealer called and said a fix was available. The stopped by my place of business with their mobile repair service and completed it, plus the Sync recall, with nary an inconvenience to me.
And when the touchscreen electronics go, and you're looking at $1800 repair bill, you would have been happy to have the warranty. That $50 you put aside every month ain't cutting it.
Everyone has differing opinions on extended warranties. Modern automobiles are not even close to resembling...
It's OK to vent, but I think contacting Ford or the dealer and carrying on about "design flaw" and "defect" is not going to get it repaired under warranty. Ford and the dealer will not admit to that, nor would they want to set such a precedent.
