True. At that point, it’s a question of how bad do you want to keep that customer. I have honored an expired warranty many times when a valued customer insisted that it was a manufacturing issue. Right now, I do not feel valued.

I have elevated it to Ford. They say they can’t override the determination of the local service department. Funny, the local service department made their initial determination without even looking at the vehicle.
Just driving down the highway and my moonroof exploded. Broken all the way around the perimeter. Nothing hit it. Of course, Ford refuses to cover it under warranty (18,000 miles, 11 months old).
Anybody had this happen?
