Final repair estimate:
$15,284.57
Based on California Total Loss formula… it could go either way…
ACV = Ballpark $26-27k
Salvage Value = $10-15k
So I guess it’s insurance’s decision now…
If Salvage + Repair totals under the ACV, then it’s a keeper, but if not… back to the dealership!
Maybe...
yeah, like hell I’m paying for any of the repair. I’ll even make the 3 other cars pay restitution for my deductible.
still puts me without my BS for an unknown amount of time.
I’ve gotten 50/50 on repairable or not, but now I’m looking at the whole picture and costs:
Insurance pays for my rental...
I mean, I’m trying to remain optimistic. But after looking at build schematics as well as already doing my own Mods/alterations to the car, I’m leaning towards loss.
It’s definitely not in my control, but after looking at what parts I assume is needed, I’m seeing a lot of $ build up as well as...
I almost titled this post with that quote!
Not leased, but my insurance company is also my car loan provider. So I’m thinking it’s all up to them and how much they are willing to fork out. It’s all really in their best interests, not mine

I don’t have front damage, but my rear looks worse off. I think I should start expecting the total loss scenario.
yeah, getting picked up tomorrow for review. Just depressing after only having it for 1 year and already putting time and energy into mods. I think it’s fixable, but then I’m seeing “back ordered” on all parts I would assume needs to be replaced. So who knows when I might get the car back if it...
to be quite honest, I’m fine. Impact didn’t feel like it did that much damage. It wasn’t until I started to drive off the highway onto the shoulder that it felt like I was rock crawling.
I got out and looked and was then caught off guard. I will say, impact absorption on the BS is pretty darn...
I can pound this out, right?
Frame buckled both rear and side under carriage (to the point where front wheel well is out of body alignment
Suspension gone
Lift gate fused closed and out of alignment
atleast I have a piece of their car to take with me… which I also think may be stuck there...
That’s the only breakdown I’ve found too. It kinda helps. I’ve also been looking for the actual tear down step by step so I can actually see the impact bar.
After all I went through with trying to wire AUX lighting and the nightmare of getting to the battery, I have found that the simple method...
Yeah, I’ve seen that when looking at those fun stencil tear downs when looking for parts/investigating on how to have a body/bumper mounted swing away spare opposed to a hitch mount swing away.
Id just have to replace the structural integrity the roof provides with a very ridged roll bar...
Have you looked into working on replacements for the fabric tire well liners as well?
I know it’s not as important as undercarriage protection, but replace 1 fabric cover liner, replace them all?
I think we just need to petition to have “Pimp My Ride” return to TV.
In all fairness, I understand the difference between “accessorizing” vs “modifying”. I’ve “accessorized” with a lift, bigger tires, nudge bar, grill and 7” Flood Lights. I even got myself a 3d printer to design a bezel frame...
I have 255/60-18 running on mine with a 1.5 inch lift.
I had to remove the small wheel well mud flaps in the front of each tire due to rubbing when driving. Wind would push them against tires and start to melt.
I also have a little bit of rubbing in the front wheel well fabric liner. That also...
