When the guy in the photo climbs down, he’s gonna have two significant dents at the bottom of the ladder. I leaned skis against the exact same place once. Insta dent. The body panels are just thin aluminum, right?
We went to Moab. If memory serves, we spent about six hours driving, most of it on nothing resembling a road. I recommend the event. If nothing else, it demonstrates the sport’s capabilities. Hill climbing a small cliff was beyond epic.
Drove up Mount Blue Sky (over 14k feet). Beautiful sunny day with hundred plus mile views before massive storm clouds blew in and ended the view. This sheep stopped traffic just below the peak in order to lick the salt off vehicles. Yes, my sport got licked by an ungulate.
I’d have to dig over 5000’ to reach to top of Britton Hill. :)
I will have to try that Montana downhill trick. Gas up near Dillon and drive home. The dash should show an entertaining MPG number.
The gas mileage calculator makes some fun assumptions. I leave my house in Denver, fill the tank, dash says I have 351 miles until empty. Leave for Rocky Mountain National Park (Estes Park side), drive through the entire park, stopping often. Exit at Grand Lake, drive home. I drive 209 miles In...
The zero to sixty website stats are interesting. Only the big Bronco Raptor is faster off the line than a BSBL. The little BL is simply quicker than the big ones. And in keeping with the historic comparisons, the BMW 3 series I sold when I bought the Ford is barely a hair quicker (per this...
Keep it in the Ford family: Coyote 5.0!
Seriously, a very lightweight, brick-shaped object like a BS probably cannot safely manage more HP/torque than the 2.0 already provides. I’d imagine things get slippery quickly.
I am still rolling on the stock 225 Pirellis. I’ve driven at least a thousand miles in heavy snow and ice in the past year (I ski and the Rockies are in our “backyard”). It already feels like I cannot ask for better traction so I have yet to replace the stock tires. Last weekend Rabbit Ears pass...
Rough Country seems to have a product (nerf bar) that does the job. Anyone find and like any alternatives they prefer for a simple, non-moving step bar? I’d love something narrow and solid to stand on when putting skis, etc. on and off the roof rack.
