Thanks for the details that’s helpful. Well, mine has happened once or twice after fill up only. It’s almost an everyday occurrence after sitting in the sun all day and starting it up in the afternoon. I plan to try to remove the valve and clean it and see if it’s stuck but the rattling you...
I would think the price would be about the same as the labor to hook up The equipment is the same and the only thing you wouldn’t be getting is the flush additive. I can assure you Ford is not going to refill via the vent tube as a DIY would.
As a matter of fact , I was at dealer today for a past issue and asked that very question. He claimed it actually was a flush with a cleaner that gets run through not just simple fluid exchange machine. However, he was also unaware that the filter was basically non-serviceable and buried...
So did your problem mainly happen after fill ups and did you have a DTC ? I was thinking that might be the issue, but I have no codes and it seems to happen after sitting all day and getting into it and starting it up in the afternoon. Of course afternoons are warmer than the mornings so that...
AI is useful for some things, car repair is not one of them. It’s just good enough to make you think it knows what it’s talking about but then hallucinates greatly.
I can’t argue with that. The SA said drop the pan and drain and replace the filter like normal transmission. So he must not have gotten the right information.
OK, that’s more embedded than I even thought! That explains the high price I wouldn’t want to do that job either. I think I’ll do it myself at a regular intervals and then at the maintenance interval the warranty requires have a paid flush done.
You’re confusing Ford warranty with the third-party warranty that I mentioned in my earlier post. For that warranty, it requires fluid and filter change. Sure they make it standard for all vehicles and don’t take into consideration the design of each Transmission unfortunately
If you meant what I did , that is correct as I don’t have a multi thousand dollar flush machine in my shop. I did this on an escape before the bronco and did it on the first bronco thus far. And I would do it on this one if it wasn’t for keeping the warranty intact requiring a shop to do the...
Correct. This bronco came with a third-party warranty and in order to keep the warranty the filter has to be changed. On my first bronco sport I changed the fluid myself and it wasn’t that big a deal and it’s certainly not worth 500, When all the tech has to do is hook it to a machine with...
