That's rare but it does happen. I would suggest having someone take a video of you running the pen down the Crack so that cannot prove you wrong. 40 years in dealerships even though the ones I worked for were fair, I even had dealers that tried to burn me even though they knew I was in the business.
Take a ball point pen and run it along the crack. If it stops anywhere along the Crack, it's been hit and not a stress fracture. Stress fractures are very rare but do happen. 40 year experience talking
I'm a retired dealer service manager. They cannot say a lift or other mods caused the problem. The manufacturer would have to test every scenario to be able to prove it was caused by a mod. Easier for them to pay the claim.
A legitimate recall will never be changed. It will be there until 100% of all registered vehicles under the recall have either been completed or the car was totaled. The recall will be on the effected vegicltil hell freezes over. Im a retired 40 year auto dealer service manager
Im a retired parts service director for a Subaru dealer and they would have us take an oil sample if they were suspicious about an engine failure. I can't say the same for Ford.
I hope the best for you. I would not have to lose mine either. BTW you have a right to ask for factory original parts to repair, otherwise the insurance will put aftermarket parts that aren't as good as factory in fit and finish.
