I'm calling this my 'winter' setup, which allows me to sleep in the back if the weather's bad. A lot of research and thought went into this to get it where it's at, but I think it's an efficient use of space and everything the Bronco Sport has to offer. It's such a great platform and I'm excited to take it to Moab, Valley of the Gods and the Grand Canyon beginning next week. I can provide more details on the setup if anyone's interested.

I thought about a drawer setup but not at the expense of the spare tire access. I do not want to put it on the roof. Or a rear carrier either. How do you get the spare out?

The drawer is by Shawnee Hills Offroad and is from their "Ultralite Series". The entire drawer and casing is 20lbs. The drawer comes all the way out and has a handle cutout on the backside so you can easily remove it with all the contents. Two simple Rollercams detach and the casing also easily comes out. Takes less than 5 minutes to remove everything to get to the spare.

Those are nice. A little pricey though.

Awesome setup, curious what you have on your cargo rack on top. Have you had a chance to get out and use the system you set up. The first shake out trip usually gives a good idea of what you need and don't need unless you've packed it up for an apocalypse.

Thanks! On top of the Roofnest Falcon 2, I have X-Bull recovery boards. On the sides, I have a Fiskars axe and Tabor Tools shovel. I did take the rig out this past fall, but with a different internal set up using Milwaukee Packout boxes which are great, but they're heavy and not that efficient with internal space. After one outing, I knew I wanted to change things and add a drawer system.

So, to your point, this will be the first, full-fledged apocalypse adventure!

This is an awesome setup. I recently built a drawer/sleeping system for mine and love the functionality of it for Overlanding. Just curious where did you get that table that is extended out of the tailgate? I've been searching for one and that is a fantastic solution.

Thanks micmore47!

The side table is a Yakima OpenRange. It's made for their Open Range kitchen box, but I screwed the wire attachment bar into the base of my sleeping board and it works perfectly. However, as I was doing that, I thought, why not make a similar size board out of birch and slide it under the sleeping board when not in use and just pull it out when needed. So next iteration of the setup, I'm going to do just that.

NOTE on the Yakima OpenRange: the bottom of the table has really sharp edges and makes it a bit difficult to handle. And the telescoping pole that comes with it, has serrated edges that are even sharper. So if you get one, be careful handling it.

When the wife and I bought our RV, the first "shake out trip" was in our driveway. This way, we figured out what we still needed in the RV for that trip away from home based on how many trips we made back into the house that night!

Yes, the mattress is for the Bronco Sport from Deep Sleep Overland. It's inflatable memory foam with a R18 warmth value and really comfortable.

Whats the exact drawer system you got? I see they make one for the Bronco but didn't see the bronco sport, guessing the custom sizing?

It's the last item in their Ultralite series called "Universal Drawer Module". You can configure from multiple sizes which is cool. Mine is 32" deep x 22" wide x 10".
