Great news !!

One question to JcrOffroad…

Are all 6 of your Bronco Sport skid Products compatible with the Badlands model?

Reason I ask is all state “Compatible with all Bronco Sport Trim Levels” except for the Front Bumper Bash Plate Product and the Sliders | Crusader Product.

Bronco Sport Engine Skid | 1st Gen (21+)

Bronco Sport Front Bumper Bash Plate | 1st Gen (21+)

Bronco Sport Catalytic Converter Skid | 1st Gen (21+)

Bronco Sport Gas Tank Skid | 1st Gen (21+)

Bronco Sport Evap & Floor Skid | 1st Gen (21+)

Bronco Sport Sliders | Crusader | 1st Gen (21+)

I would like to see this reply to, I just got the Go Rhino Rock Sliders that another participant mentioned. With the Badlands, I have a skid plate, but I've never "played in the dirt" before and really don't understand how the JCR setup will improve (or if it will) the security of my Badlands over what I have.

I do plan on getting off-road as soon as I have a lift kit (supposed to be on its way) and the rock sliders installed, so would appreciate insights.

Note: I get there are TON of variables here, as to how often I'll be off-road, what type of trails, etc, but thoughts would be nice. Replacing the factory skid on the badlands, and the elements I just got with the JCR variants for added protection looks like a more involved process with around a $2K price tag. It will likely be a future mod based on off-road experience, but if there is something I'm missing would appreciate the slap on the head...

Thanks Team.

That's alot of money to spend on a soccer moms mall crawler to go play in the dirt. My Badlands is covered in plastic and felt. You might want to throw in a transfer case and transmission so you can have 4 wheel drive.

Bronco 2.7:

I actually had to ponder this one abit, trying to figure out how to respond.

Here is what I've come up with... You and I are in abit of a different world. From your profile, you live in Northern Idaho (by the way I want to move up there). You live in an area where you can drive a few minutes or an hour and be in the wild...

I live in North Texas. If I drive 2 hours I can get to some very low mountains in south east Oklahoma. But if I really want to "play" anywhere, I have to spend about 6 hours in the car. More if I want some serious hills, like 2 days driving.

In November '21, I went to McCall and rented a Jeep Rubicon (that's it in the profile pic at the time of writing). I LOVED the Wrangler in the 35-40 mph roads in McCall. It even handled the drive up from Boise nicely. But the last day I was there, there was a rock slide and I had to come back to Boise via the round about. It showed every flaw a Wrangler had (micro-adjustments, loud, poor high speed performance). After 2 hours I was going crazy.

I also had a wrangler back in '95. Mine at that time, had poor rain and snow handling to add to all the other mess.

After returning I test drove the Bronco (the big guy) and the Gladiator. Kinda funny, they both drove similar in my opinion. Both were WAY more comfortable than the Wrangler, but neither was really comfortable, and the prices were ridiculous (no slam on anyone that has the big guy, just out of my budget)).

When I returned to the dealership, they had the Bronco Sport there, I test drove it and basically found my ride.

Yeah, there is the Defender, and maybe a modified Porsche (see budget issues above). My understanding is the Subaru's are great off road (just not my style).

I get what your saying about the plastic, and it not being "the real deal," but with the drives I have at present, I'll take my toy over the rock brawlers anyday. The $2K isn't "nothing" to me, but if I get serious in playing in the dirt, I think the extra protection to protect my daily ride might be worth it.

Time will tell of course, I just got my lift and I'm getting Go Rhino rock sliders this week.

Will be introducing my ride within a few weeks I hope.

For what it's worth though I do appreciate the feedback, confess being seriously jelly about you living in God's Country. I LOVE Texas culture, but I hate the big flat spaces...

True story, if I walk around my neighborhood, the nicest thing to see is a drainage ditch that they've turned into a park... Nothing like an evening stroll to the sewage (it's not sewage, but it isn't pretty).

And based on his profile he has a 6G Bronco. So is he just here to just throw shade? We all know there is not a transfer case and its based off the Escape. Just an observation not trying to be a jerk. But if that's the intention then I have nothing to say. Chris Bronco 2.7 do you have a Bronco Sport and A 6G Bronco? Hell I saw an F350 that sat as high as my eye level at the bottom of the door with street performance tires and was just a Mall Crawler. Now that's a lot of money to look cool.

I actually think Bronco 2.7 was giving some serious constructive feedback (with some sarcasm thrown in, which I can appreciate). Ultimately he had some good points.

I think he also gave some feedback on the winch, about not getting the Bronco Sport into situations that would require one (though I can easily see getting stuck in mud, which I think would be in the Bronco Sports operating area).

I think the biggest caveat to the feedback, comes down to location and maybe budget.

I haven't started playing in the dirt yet, I may find I won't need the extra armor. From HRG's videos, it's clear that the Bronco Sport can handle the rough stuff (at least anything I would do in my daily driver).

Appreciate everyones thoughts.

The jcr evap and floor skids won’t fit if you get the go rhino rock slider and you have the badlands. They have to be modified cut and protected. A doable project but would need basic metal skills.

Yes going back through this you are correct. I see it differently now.

GoatsyBanks:

I posted on the other thread... I would love to make it work as well.

The holes for the Bash Plate do not align to the Bronco Sport Badlands. They've updated their website to reflect that it won't work for a Badlands.

Hope it helps, Happy Trails.
