I purchased the Sport over the full-sized Bronco for two reasons: higher acquisition cost, and higher operating costs. Nothing has changed as far as I know.
I purchased the Sport because my wife and I are in our 80's and climbing is not one of our numerous hobbies. Especially climbing to get in the front seats or skydiving to get out.🤯

Would only consider the 2-door big Bronco, but obv haven't done so. The big Bronco seems plagued by a variety of issues, recalls and such, that we were thankfully spared with the Sport. I recognize that the Sport had the advantage of being based off an existing platform, but I was concerned that the expanded 4WD architecture posed a recall risk which didn't ultimately materialize.

I wouldn't and why I wouldn't has already been mentioned by others on here.

Its my only car and it does that quite well. I also needed a fishing car and something that could do some decently long road trips fairly comfortably. I also live in Denver and the smaller size comes in handy often.

What I'm also noticing is my car is a hell of a lot dirtier then all the other 4Runners and Jeeps I see in my parking garage. It seems like I'm doing more off roading by going fishing on the weekends then these people with purpose built off roaders are. Another thing about the purpose built off roaders is you really have to go out of your way to find fun things to do with them. Even in Denver there aren't a ton of trails nearby, they're there but you really have to make a day of it. Which if thats your hobby thats great.

I also never wanted a big bronco. I never saw the Sport as Bronco Light....I see it as a more capable CUV with a good engine, an 8spd transmission which I do like and hate CVTs, and a more capable AWD system.

In my mind I never compared it to the Big Bronco. I never even considered one tbh even though a Big Bronco Big Bend is at a similar price point to the BL. I always saw it as its own car that fit my needs quite well. If I was offered a Big Bronco now, I wouldn't think twice about it, I'm simply not trading in my car for that. Which again seems fun but just not something I'm much attracted to.

So we’ll see you at King of Hammers next year?

Short answer yes. I finally got to sit in one at the auto show & it’s just roomier enough to be more comfortable sitting in. I do want one. But. Everything about it is a compromise to make the coolest vehicle possible. So I couldn’t get one thinking it’d be a better road trip vehicle than the Sport, because I’m sure I’d quickly find out it wouldn’t be. If I could have one as a second vehicle however I sure would. Cost wise though you can start looking at some pretty nice stuff for the big bronco price.

Curious to see if some of the big bronco’s positive points are replicated in the Ranger. Too bad Ford doesn’t offer a fixed roof full size Bronco like Toyota with the 4Runner & LandCruiser. I’d happily take an Everest I’m sure.

The sport, is sized just right for my needs. No need for a bigger badder beast. Fuel economy is a real thing. The Bs/Bs trim pack has rung all my bells and whistles. Living in the north east precludes the heavy duty off road, overland experience the full size big brother would be better suited to.
I fully expect to love my sport till its ( and my) final days.

I agree . . . this just may be my last car, especially the way CA is “electrifying” everything.

This is the way. There is no flippin' way on God's green earth I would drive a $60K+ vehicle out into the boonies to get beat up. Get something you won't cry over when it gets a scratch or two (or three).
I guess this is why I love my 2007 F-150.

Yes, I would trade my 2023 BS for a full size Bronco....

It's the price that is stopping me.

Great answer! The Sport is great for getting in and out of. I have to climb up to get out of the Lexus, climb up to get into the 2 Door, and the BS Badlands is the perfect get in and out vehicle.

Nope. I love the looks and the mileage on my BSBB. That being said I think this is my 1st and last Ford as a daily drive. Most likely going back to Jeep as of now.

I traded my '21 BS BL for a '21 Bronco 2dr OBX way back in '21. Probably should have kept it because my wife missed the BS so much she bought a '22 BS BL for herself. I've really like the Bronco so last year I traded the 2dr for a '23 4dr WildTrak. The BS and Bronco are totally different vehicles, the only thing in common is the name. If you want a off road oriented truck then the Bronco is for you, if you want a around town SUV that feels like a car and gets better MPG then the BS is more for you...or in our case we have both! :like:

Not a chance. Both have their place in my garage and my use case. As far as long trips, the Lexus ES350 beats them both hands down as far as comfort and gas milage. For off roading, sorry but there’s no comparison. The Bronco Sport Badlands is great for what it is but I can tell you from real experience the 2 door is much better off road and much less fear of tearing things up. The BSBL makes a great overall for travel and off roading if you can only have one vehicle. As far as costs, a new BS Badlands is 45k, a new Heritage is 53k. That price differential is still about what it was 2 years ago. I paid 32k for BSBL and 40K for the 2 door.

As far as size, there is more room in the Sport. But it’s lower and a bit narrower. The gas milage isn’t that much different. I’m getting around 22-24 with the Sport and 17-19 with the 2 door. The Sport is my daily driver during the winter and the 2 door is the daily during the summer. The Lexus is the travel vehicle and gets low 30’s on the highway.

You only paid 32k for you BSBL was it used when you bought it?
