3 or 4 times now I've gotten in my car, pushed the button and it doesn't start. Instead it tells me to shift into Park first. I tested it and tried to turn off vehicle in reverse and it puts it into Park automatically. It doesn't seem like it's actually in reverse when this happens (because I've never left it in reverse when turning it off, plus it doesn't go anywhere on its own, the rear camera view isn't on). My searches haven't come up with anything. Any ideas on what's going on or how they might want to fix it before I call the dealer?

Hey Rachael. As soon as I picked up my Badlands from the dealership, it threw a wrench icon at me which turned out to be a faulty shift knob module. I guess it's pretty common for them to be faulty from the factory and need replacing. You don't have an icon on your dash, but I wouldn't be surprised if you've got a bad module too. I'd take it into the dealer to get it checked under warranty.

Hi there, Racheal! Go ahead and send us a private message with your VIN and the name and location of your Ford dealer, and I’ll look into this concern with your Bronco not starting. Thanks!

If not a module issue, I've had it once where the shift dial was stuck in between points. The bronco put itself fully into park like it was programmed to do when I turned the ignition off. When I got the error I noticed it, so I completed the dial rotation and I never had this issue again. Hopefully your issue is the same, nice and simple. :)

For reference, I'm driving a 2024 OB.
