I wonder if this was a certified tech or the 18 year old working part time on summer vacation.

Totally unacceptable work.

I asked which tech it was so I could make sure they never touch the vehicle again but they wouldn't tell me anything about them, other than they "called in sick today so they won't be the one working on it". They said the foreman was going to handle it themselves.

Glad to hear they are trying to take care of you.

I think I recall you saying you drove 3+ hours with the hoses disconnected? If so, I think it's entirely possible that much oil could come out. It's why some people install oil catch cans.
These engines already have an oil catch can from the factory.

I looked at my invoices also and no tech information anywhere. Has the service writers name but that’s it.

1.5L, 2.0L, or both? I haven't seen one on my 2.0L. I'd be surprised they put a catch can in that has to be drained. Haven't heard of anyone or anything mentioning that in the service procedures (i.e. drain the oil catch can every 15,000 miles).

Can you educate me?

Thanks!

Right? I haven't heard of any manufacturers having an oil catch can even on high performance vehicles.

Both the 2.0L and the 1.5L have an oil separator built into the engine, but Ford does not install catch cans on these at the factory,

Picked it up today. They went through everything and say its all good to go. They did have to adjust the brake fluid level also from what the tech had done during the service. Complete detail of the engine bay and interior/exterior of the car. I was just waiting to see if they would offer any discounts or deals moving forward, but they didn't. I could have asked I'm sure, but in my opinion they knew they messed up and if they were serious about keeping my business they should have offered something on their own. I don't think I'll be going back to them again.

All people want to do these days is sit on their ass and peck on their phones. I had my transmission changed awhile ago and when I got it back I found so much stuff not reconnected. Ford technicians are the same way. I honestly dont beleve they do half the work we pay for.
