Was sitting in a chair drinking a cold beer after off roading using the BS as shade. I noticed this wired in the front grill. I can take a zoomed out photo if needed. What is it for? Should it be attached to something?

That doesn’t look right - do you live in an area where a block heater is necessary?

If you are not the first owner, this could also be a bad accessory removal

Only owner. Live in Phoenix so block heater not necessary.

insulation looks melted between a possible shorting of wires
fuse should have blown long before meltdown occurred
check the fuse blocks

Looks like garbage wire. Does it attach to anything besides the Grille?

Adding some more photos to help. I'm not sure if that plastic cover just pops off, so I didn't want to keep pulling on it.

I would agree with @Stradasphere , it appears to be coming from your ACC sensor. I’m assuming you have ACC as mine doesn’t and I have no box there. Should be easy to test.

That looks pretty ugly. You'd think some features or another, would be inoperable and throwing warnings on the dash.

No error messages. Adaptive cruise control works. I do have another broken seat belt but that's unrelated....I think.

Since your still under warranty see if the brains at your service department can figure it out.
Yeah that's the plan, though I like having somewhat of an idea what an issue is before taking it in so I can judge if the service rep is bullshitting me. The delarship I go for service has a good group of techs. From what I hear the owner treats them relatively well so they stay a long time.

This issue would be a hard one to bullshit you about. Take your hip boots just in case.

I'm sure you'll smell it in the first 30 seconds if it happens.
