I am thinking about getting these. I don’t have a lift but it will fit my Outer Banks without it. What are your thoughts. Is that you’ve had them for some time? How does it impact gas mileage? Any other issues?

added Haulmaster brand roof rack, from Harbor Freight, only ($99.99) and added hood struts from Amazon, Rerpro brand, only ($47.99)...to my Bronco Sport....easy to install and i like both of them...cheaper than most options and looks good too.

Some people clean cars, and some people clean cars. Honestly I'm not great at it but sometimes I notice things and then they bug me so bad I have to do something about it. One of my complaints with the BS is how poorly the fender wells "seal" the car and stuff get up over them. Here's what results. I pulled out that big foam baffle piece that is just forward of the driver doors. Found enough dirt to register my Bronco with OFB as a legal farm operation.

This stuff is everywhere. The plastic trim around the wheel well? Yeah, well, it's hollow and all the stuff that slings up there is collecting at the bases like a Connect 4 game. I pulled a bunch of 1/4"- out of there with the dirt. This pic is after I pushed most out onto the garage floor. It's all up inside the plastic claddings on the bottom of the rockers too. Still haven't figured out a great way to get into the rears, short of removing the wheels and liners.

One note: I do not recommend taking the cladding pieces off. These plastic snap-on parts are made to be assembled one time.

Don't know if it would work, but looks like maybe -- there's a gizmos advertised on late night tv called the "Lint Lizard". It fits on the hose of a ship vac and has a small diameter, flexible hose maybe 3 1/2-4 feet longwhich you can wiggle into some really tight places. If the dirt's dry it'll probably pull it out. This is cheap (@ $10 last time I saw it). You could probably make one yourself, but at the price it's easier just to buy one. ** also work well on clothes dryer lint removal (what it was made for).

I have several option to reach it. It is fairly dried-on stuck though. It needs abrasion to get totally clean or you have to get brave with the pressure washer. They make little brushes that insert into the end of a regular crevice tool. That'd do it.
