What did you do TO your Bronco Sport today?

I installed the Steeda strut tower bar over the weekend. Easy install once I found the instructions online and thanks for the forum for other details. I think Steeda has fallen a bit in terms of customer service. I called them twice with some minor questions and their answers were very generic and basically the net was 'it should work/it should be right', but we cannot check at the moment.

Have it installed on mine 2 years ago and love it, not sure what changed but thought install was pretty easy, think it took like 10 min... Felt the impact on the first drive

I definitely agree with you on the impact; I drove my Sport yesterday and could tell the difference. From what I could tell, the hardware changed, thus the torque number and with my model year being a 2025, some minor things in the engine bay was moved, so wanted to make sure I didn't run into any placement issues.

What's it feel like? What was the benefit? I know what it did in my mustang, but that's a totally different animal. Body flex, torque steer? Just not sure how it would help the BS. Genuinely asking because I just don't know.

It reduces the body flex and better steering response esp when turning

I agree per BigK's reply. Also, as you mentioned on the Mustang front, I had one too and it definitely was needed. Mine was a 2018 GT PP1 spec.

Back in December I was rear-ended by a careless driver. Probably on his phone. My 2025 BS OBX SAS had less than 3000 km (1864 miles) on it. Fortunately I wasn't hit hard and there wasn't any structural damage. The rear skid plate was replaced. However, dealing with insurance and the body shop was a PITA and it took close to six months as I fought with them to make things right.

Anyway, she's back on the road in like new condition, freshly oil-sprayed. Have a great summer.

Happy 4th to you! Great question and here's some information that should help. Attached is a PDF of the instructions from Steeda's site, but let me edit them for you. See below for the actual (proper steps) and having an extra set of hands will help.

1. Yes, you remove the two factory bolts on each strut tower per the PDF.

2. The Steeda bar comes with blue screws, a set of washers, and spacers as well and two zip ties, which you shouldn't need.

3. The blue screws are a 6mm hex.

4. If you want to raise the strut bar to fit above the gas line in the engine bay, place each space on the strut tower where you removed the factory screw. Do this for each side or if you exclude the spacer, the bar will likely run under that line and will sit closer to the brake fluid reservoir and the battery as well.

5. If using the spacers, as I did, then place the bar on top of each spacer, put the washer inside the hole of the bar and then finally start your screw. Note, because I'm overly cautious, I did apply a few threads high on each blue screw some blue loctite. Whatever you do, DO NOT use red loctite, as that's more a permanent and will require heat and a lot of force to remove the bolt.

6. As your finalizing tightening each side, check your clearance to make sure the bar isn't applying an pressure on the lines mentioned above.

7. Last step, is to torque each blue screw to 23 ft. lbs, per the PDF. Personally, I'm going to check each bolt again in a few weeks after driving so make sure they are still in spec. I think they'll be good considering, I used a bit of blue loctite.

Now sit back, enjoy your nice engine bay and get out and drive your Bronco Sport around noting the change in the front end. I felt the difference on first drive and thoroughly enjoying this simple part. I hope this helps and let me know if you have any questions!

Im not much of an off roader but when I looked up those braces most articles said they reduced the articulation and werent recommended for 4wheeling but if the body is flexing that much maybe these braces will do better to preserve chassis stiffness in the long run.
They certainly arent too spendy and diy makes them even more appealing as long as the negatives arent too bad.
Have you driven off the asphalt enough to notice anything?

Im not much of an off roader but when I looked up those braces most articles said they reduced the articulation and werent recommended for 4wheeling but if the body is flexing that much maybe these braces will do better to preserve chassis stiffness in the long run.

No sir, nothing yet off the asphalt. Once I give it a go, I'll let you know though.

I've had the Steeda brace installed for over 2 years and I have taken it off asphalt many times. I don't notice any difference. if anything it's miniscule. Happy offroading!
