Facts are actual oil analysis that proves at what point the engine is actually finished breaking in. Not "Millions of people have been doing it." or "I've been doing this for years." that's 100% speculation and guess-o-metrics.It's not an argument at all, it's just simply facts.
Let me ask you a few questions (We will reference Fords recommended 10,000mi oil change interval.) in the first 10000mi where do you think all the wear material is captured? What's the smallest particle size an oil filter can capture? How small are the particles of wear materials in the oil during the break-in period? What quality of oil filter and oil does Ford use off the assembly line? Lake Speed Jr. and AI both agree that 3 break-in oil changes should be performed within the first 3000mi. (500mi, 1500mi, and 3000mi.) Lastly why do you believe that Ford states 10,000mi for the first oil change?
If you actually watched the Motor Oil Geek videos you will know that through their research they found that leaving the oil filter in for the first 2 oil exchanges actually catches MORE wear materials than installing 2 new oil filters during that time.
It's OK, I did the same thing 1997 when I purchased my 1996 Mustang GT. I removed all 6 cats installed a catless off-road H pipe, installed Flowmaster 40 Series mufflers, and added a CAI (actually a HAI) thinking it would make my car sooo much faster. Well, all it did was make me gag and my eyes water when working on it in the garage from the exhaust fumes, turned on a check engine light and wake my parents starting the car every morning to go to work. Oh, and the drone from the exhaust was so horrible you could forget talking to anyone in the passenger seat or listening to the radio.
