Maybe I'm late to the discussion here but I've noticed after only a few days with my BS that in the rain, water spits up from front of hood to windshield when slowing down. By spitting up I mean a lot of water must be pooling somewhere near the front center of the hood and releasing at slow speeds to spit up to the windshield.

Yes this is normal and I believe they all do that. The hood is flat enough to where water pools against the bumps in the hood and slides down hood when coming to a stop then flicks the water back onto windshield haha its fun to watch.

One of the first annoying things I noticed as well and unfortunately due to the design as @Bloomsey said, its normal.

Now, the lack of rear camera washer OTOH ticks me off to no end. I still am frosted I'll have to add that at some point.
The dirty rear camera is a pita. Glad I still use the mirrors!

Like a mini tsunami at times depending on the rain and wind.

Freaked me out the first time, thought I drove into the river...... 🤪

Back when I had my 95 Explorer Sport my then 5 yr old would BEG me to drive through puddles to send up a big spray of water. Then, this thread popped up the day it rained in town for the 1st time since I bought my BS almost 6 months ago. Of course I had to drive through a puddle.

OH WOW! I only put the right 2 tires in the puddle, and an ENORMOUS sheet of water covered the entire windshield! It was crazy. ...and yes, the water sat on the flat hood going back and forth until I got on the freeway a mile down the road.

Hmmm, will need to find the way to actuate the rear.

Rear camera washer, if present, is activated with the rear windshield washer. Pull back (towards you) for the front windshield, push forward (toward the dash) for the rear windshield, and the rear camera sprayer if equipped.
