No, that was a separate transaction. I bought the BS here in AZ and purchased the ESP from Granger Ford in Iowa online.

Either way, I bought a Ford ESP to 100k miles. I'm racking up the miles driving 100 miles a day though so I'm sure it'll expire before the 8 year part.
Side note, I'm looking at my policy and don't understand if I added the rental or not. I hope I did, Ford has gave me a loaner for over 2 weeks!

yes. if you do this tsb before a problem starts, there is a good chance the problem can be avoided. apparently, there was no good check valve in the old hose, and in humid clients like mine, the hose would just suck up moisture into the diff and contaminate the friction properties of the fluid.
I'm guessing that's what happened to me. We've had a LOT of rain and heat over the last few weeks in South Texas. They said it was going to be covered under the TSB. Kind of glad I procrastinated on changing that oil now lol.

I've had small things replaced under warranty. PCV valves and hose type stuff from what I can search my memory for. Never did I have an entire transmission replaced under warranty at just over 20K miles

Now, its the Rear Differential with the dreaded "contaminated fluid clutch pack chatter while turning in 1st gear".
If y'all remember me from when I first got my Badlands, I was very excited. I was a Mustang guy with a brand new kid. Loved the fact that I got a compact little off-roader that was also great for road trips. Could've spent another 10-15k for a Passport or a 4Runner, but decided on the 'savings'. Well, many times when we buy our vehicles, we count on the "savings" finally happening when the vehicle is paid off. You know ... that beautiful 2-5 years when you have no more car payment? But this depends strictly on your car being reliable after 60K and well into the 100's.
My BS Badlands is at 48K now. The 'savings' I chose when I chose this car, gets eviscerated if I go out of warranty and have to deal with one of these repairs out of my pocket.
I'm not a gambler. You can't catch me betting on sports. I have some fun maybe when I go to Vegas, but that's ONLY in Vegas. I'm not in prediction markets and I'm not on Kalshi. So for me, going out of warranty in this vehicle has become a MAJOR gamble.
So I wanted to throw this out there to all y'all afficionados. With this vehicle demonstrating "less than stellar" reliability (pretty sure I'm not going out on a limb there), how does everyone here feel about keeping their vehicle past warranty? Are any of you feeling like I am and not willing to make that gamble? Anyone here comfortable with extended warranty plans? I looked into Ford Extended Warranty but I think you have to be below 36K in order to get that. Can someone clarify? I also looked at (for the first time in my life) 3rd party plans like Carshield. But again, now we're possibly looking at close to a $200 payment monthly just to have peace of mind. If I were to sell/trade the BS now, I'd lose about 3 or 4K of the DOWN PAYMENT I initially put down. And that doesn't include the last 3 years of car payments, that would basically equate to a lease.
My thought is to wait until the 2027 models start rolling onto lots in September. And see if I can't exit stage left then. I'm definitely going to at least scope it out.
Some of you have mentioned that "I'm lucky" that these major pieces have failed while under warranty. Maybe so. Maybe Ford got it right now. It all just seems risky to me at this point.
I'll let you guys know how the Ape sounds when I get it back. Hopefully by next week.
I can't vote on this one because of the limited catagories. I bought mine with 150,000 miles warenty as I use it for work and put a lot of miles on it. I am already over 70K miles, with no issues what so ever, so I am realy not worried about it.
as for 3rd party plans they usaly hose you for the cost and they try get out of everything coverage wise. make sure you read the fine print.

I bought the 150k/8yr extended warranty with my car in July 2022. Between the turbocharger failure, the purge valve replacement, the 12v outlet failure... warranty has already paid for itself.
How many miles did you have with the turbo failure? And the purge valve.
Turbo replacement was at 66,097; purge valve was 76,607 (although to be honest, I think the valve had been bad for a while, I just didn't specifically notice it until I almost got creamed on University Blvd in Denver trying to turn left in front of oncoming traffic and my car didn't feel like moving despite the gas pedal being floored...I'd actually suspected the fuel pump).

Got the Ape back yesterday. Clacking/Thunking sound out of the rear end during 1st gear turns are gone.
The deliberation begins for me. There is a part of me that feels I'd be the unluckiest idiot in the world to have two transmissions fail on me. And FWIW, its been fairly smooth since it was replaced two years ago. And I know the diff is partly my fault. I should have brought it in as soon as I heard the noise, but I probably waited too long.
For me, I think it goes back to sitting in that finance room at the dealership and going over all the options. Like i said, I always tune out, don't inquire about anything, and am hastily waiting my opportunity to sign my paperwork and drive off. I have it drilled in my head that I'm not getting any 'extended anything' or 'gap anything'. The risk was chosen there. I can't get too upset about a decision I ALREADY chose to make. Just because this vehicle has dented my confidence in its reliability, doesn't make that risk something that I didn't already ask for.
If I can EVER get to no car payments with a 'reliable' car, it will finally be worth it. I will play that out those machinations in my head over the next few months, with the 2026's. Maybe wait for Christmas on a 2027. We'll see....

Extended warranties have never been a good buy for the consumer. If they were, no one would sell them.
I’m not even sure they are a good choice when you own a seemingly unreliable vehicle like the Bronco Sport. The extended warranty prices reflect the BS’ spotty reliability record.
Both of our other vehicles are at least ten years old with more than 100k on them. Both have been reliable to this point and we have no reason to believe they won’t continue to be so.
Buying a warranty to get the BS just to that age/mileage would be expensive. And then what? I’d still have a ten year old unreliable vehicle with 100k miles on it and no warranty or expectation that it would be semi-reliable.
Ford hasn’t exactly instilled confidence that they have a handle on the repeated failure items. How many people are on their second or third water pump? Transmission or RDU?
This is a long winded way to say I’m probably going to sell the BS when the warranty expires. That hurts because the one sure way to maximize your transportation expenses is to trade vehicles frequently.

Those are questions no one except Ford knows the answers to but likely the percentages of failures aren’t as high as many people think
Since you have a 2025MY, you may want to judge your own experience vs. those of us with slightly older models. I believe some of the initial production issues (and COVID-related issues) have been addressed by Ford, and I believe statistically the 2023-2025 MY have significantly fewer "issues" than the 2021-2022 MY.
I knew I was buying a new model of car in a time where there were lots of supply problems. Extended warranty made sense to me since I was running almost 30k miles a year at the time. Thankfully I don't have to do that kind of driving these days so my warranty should last me until 2030 or 150k. I think I'll hit 150k first, but at least I am relatively confident I'll get that out of this vehicle.

Good points. I'm coming up on a year in a month and have 7000 miles on the BS. I should have plenty of warranty, time and miles, to make up my mind. I have a badlands and know that the 4 banger has fewer issues than the 3 cylinder model and the '25 itself has some upgrades over the previous years. I'm hoping for the best. I'm just a little disappointed in the reliability history of the BS over my F150.
