2021 Big Bend. 85,000 miles. Owned since new. Replaced cable twice. No go. Any ideas? I would prefer to take lower dash apart myself than have service department do it. I have my reasons. Guidance please.

See this post for similar experience but read it and see if it matches close to your issue with Waze2021 Big Bend. 85,000 miles. Owned since new. Replaced cable twice. No go. Any ideas? Settings > General > CarPlay, select your car, and enable "Allow CarPlay While Locked"Odd this question should come up! I was driving yesterday and my Waze wouldn't come up! I tried the usual stuff and finally said "Siri, open Carplay." It told me I couldn't do that with the phone locked.
@Dude : Thanks for the detailed info. I did check and it is set to allow carplay when locked. Not sure what the issue may have been - it's only happened once... and my wife was there to save the day!Settings > General > CarPlay, select your car, and enable "Allow CarPlay While Locked"
However …
The "Allow CarPlay While Locked" setting on your iPhone might not work as expected due to security features that require the phone to be unlocked after a period of inactivity when connected via USB. This security measure is in place to prevent unauthorized access to your phone's data.
Here's a more detailed explanation:
Security Feature:
Your iPhone's security features, like Touch ID, Face ID, or passcode, require unlocking after a certain time (usually after an hour) to allow data transfer via USB.
USB Restricted Mode:
This feature, which can be found in Settings > Face ID & Passcode (or Touch ID & Passcode) > Accessories, can interfere with CarPlay's ability to connect while locked.
Disabling USB Restricted Mode:
To allow CarPlay to work while locked, ensure that "Allow Access When Locked" is toggled on for USB Accessories in the same settings menu.
Alternative for Wireless CarPlay:
If you're using wireless CarPlay, the "Allow CarPlay While Locked" setting may not be necessary as wireless connections are typically less subject to security restrictions.

Yes but it’s the 2nd item which is under the detailed explanation that also would need to be enabled - but my advice is to not enable this 2nd item: (meaning you will continue to see the iPhone is locked message come up after an hour of having the iPhone last unlocked)@Dude : Thanks for the detailed info.
