Water Pumps and Leaky Fuel Injectors and what else? And FWIW those are external parts not really Engine Related. What internal engine problems have you heard about on the 1.5?
I forgot about the non fix ford did for leaking fuel injectors. Which are directly injecting fuel into combustion chamber as well as port injection. Weather you want to consider that internal or not that's still a major function of an engine, that if fails could cause a fire.

The water pump is externally mounted sure, definitely need that working to keep engine cooled. Get a leak and loose fluid you get less cooling protection. Overheating could cause internal damage to engine components.

I just don't want to have to monitor if my water pump is leaking or not today. To me the 1.5L is a time bomb, literally. I don't trust ford's drain tube as a fix when fuel and hot surfaces combine. They should install better injectors under warranty for every 1.5L out there.

I agree it seems like some of the guys with the Badlands always bad mouth the 1.5 for no reason. Especially when they have never owned the BS with that engine.
yep! And the market has spoken loudly, the 1.5 sells in droves to the point Ford added the option to equip the Outer Banks with the SAQ package for 2025!!

if the 2.0 was such an amazing engine with soooo much demand, wouldn’t we be seeing it as an option across the range ?! 😂😂😂😂

No one said there is soooo much demand for it. People just said they have a preference for it. The 1.5L outsells it from the fact that 3/4 of the trims come with it and people either didn't want/need the BL features or it was simply our of their price range. Any premium variant of an everyday car is going to be outsold by the trims below it. Ford is smart and knows that by forcing you into the BL if you want the 2.0L then you pay a premium and they make more money on it. They've done the same now with the Big Bronco with the placement of the 2.3 and 2.7 into specific trims and 2 door vs. 4 door options.

I really like that color blue. The gray roof is cool and not as common so you have a real unique ride! Mine's the same only with a black roof!

It sells because that’s where the demand is, in the real Bronco line up you can get the 2.7 right in the middle, with the Outer Banks…because there is demand for such engine there…

in the econobox world, the 1.5 outshines the 2.0 selling 8 to 2 - most people prefer the comfort of the non-BL suspension, which is why there are lots of Outer Banks out there! Sorry but it is the reality of the BS line up…if the “preference” was leading to more demand, Ford would offer it in the Outer Banks, instead they took all the BL hardware and is now offering that in the Outer Banks…

Again these are facts not feelings…

Again, I am not, nor have I said that the 1.5L doesn't outsell the 2.0L, and I didn't say there is greater preference or demand for it across the board. I said that the posters on this forum who have the BL had a preference for either the BL options or the 2.0L when they purchased. Not the overall masses, the posters in this thread and from other threads like this on the forum.

You're caught up in this greater demand argument which no one is denying.

not caught on it, simply stating facts and market preferences both which are not really anything to argue about…this forum certainly doesn’t represent the majority of us out there.
