Seeing that there is a number of makers here, I thought I'd post up the files I designed/used to print the Wife's hitch plug, in case anyone may want to give it a go.

Download Link for the STL Files

The Zip file has been updated 03-15-2022 with newest version files.
The buttons are resized so no filing/sanding of leading edge is necessary.
NOTE: This link is to my personal webspace.

A Great Glue To Use

Glue Applicator Bottles

Clearcoat

EDIT: 03-24-2022 A new version of the main cover is available. It has smoother corners and rounded over top and bottom edges. All of the other files from the original archive work with this new cover.
CLICK HERE to download the new file.

All of the parts shown below. You will need to print 2 lock buttons and 2 of the upright shims. Support material will need to be printed for the backside of the horse plate.

EDIT: Added a "Button Locator Jig" to the .zip file. You will need to re-download to get the added file. This saves the trouble of inserting the plug to mark for location.

I appreciate the kind words!
I'll give the printer some TLC (hasn't been turned on in a couple months) and pump out a few variations.

EDIT to add video. The journey has begun.
Everyone cross your fingers and say a little prayer that these prints stick to the build plate! :please:

Awesome! Think you could come up with a color similar to the Area 51

I can get close. Black back and A-51 horse or A-51 back and black horse?

Nice job on the design. What filament color are you picking to match area51 color?

The best match I have is ExcelFil's Sky Blue. Looking at it in person, compared to internet pics of A-51 rides, it's dang close. Even if not 'spot on' I'm 97% sure it would not clash, anyway. I have a friend with a coworker that has an A-51. Once I get this one done I will try and get the owner to let me install it on their's and snap a pic or two. I'm actually curious myself about it.
