I might be wrong but I think on my BL it was $875 for tow hitch package which includes a full size spare and wiring. Also some electronic wizardry for anti-sway etc well worth it I think.

I stand corrected. Only the BL model has an ATF transmission oil cooler, and not necessarily for the towing package, although the second part number does say "Towing package".

Hey guys thanks for the help. I’ll look into doing it myself.

It’s confusing that the Ford Rewards website lists a bronco sport specific trailer hitch for $275 with an included installation for $240 but then the dealership tries to sell me on a $475 hitch and $700+ for installation

All this and a $600 rack just so I can take my mountain bike on a road trip

I had to put a hitch on my BB for my mtn bike rack and it was $381.00 without wiring. I'm not pulling with it so I didn't care about the electric. Still stupid expensive.

Then buy it on the ford rewards website and pay the install on it. You can assign it to your dealership then..........

The mechanical part is fairly straight forward for an aftermarket hitch. There is a downside to the Curt hitch is the way it attaches to the frame. I was in an accident where I was hit in the rear and the force bent the trailer hitch down. This bent the frame rails. The body shop hat to straighten the frame and then weld a new rail section in place. They replaced the hitch with an OEM Ford hitch and they told me that the OEM hitch would not have caused the damage that I had because of the way it attaches.

As I side note my Brother in Law just purchased a new 2023 Badlands and it didn't have a hitch. He took it to a local shop to have an aftermarket hitch put on. The shop screwed it up and when he got the truck back 2 of the rear sensors were not working. He took it to for and they found the original shop had damaged 2 of the sensors as well as blowing a module. The charge is up to $1,500 right now. Be careful who does the work. These vehicles are very technical. We have used U-haul for years and have never had a problem. They are also large enough that they should stand behind their work. Just my thoughts.

Well said, this is why I am hesitant to get the curt hitch, it mounts flat where an oem one extends down the frame

I had a Curt installed WITH wiring harness all available on Amazon and put on by a local shop for $300. A little social media inquiry in your area should find you someone capable of doing the install without robbing you.

Hello...just got mine back from the dealer today...bsbb did not come from factory with hitch so I bought the factory oem hitch and wiring from Ford dealer. Because the bumper COVER is different if factory installed versus dealer, the COVER is cut about 4-6 inches or so to allow the hitch recever to sit properly where the factory installed sits. However, the wiring is attached behind the bumper cover and affixed to the hitch hardware there because they didn't want to cut the cover a foot or so. I'm glad they did it that way. One note...the hitch hardware when bolted to the frame takes the place of the actual metal bumper, which is removed. I asked for it and they gave it to me. Gonna repurpose. Total discounted price for hitch, wiring harness and install was 790. They quoted me 4 hour install but took 10 hours. There is a lot to remove to install the factory way. A uhaul or self installed will generally have the receiver lower than normal UNDER the bumper I THINK. One thing i didn't like is the bumper cover with factory insert doesn't come with factory hitch but i figured it wouldn't.
