After what feels like an endless number of requests, messages, emails, and “when are you finally making one for the Bronco Sport?” posts...

https://flatoutsuspension.net/broncosport-tr/

We’re genuinely excited to finally say it:

The Flatout Trail Runner is now available for the 2021+ Ford Bronco Sport.

This one means a lot to us because we knew exactly what Bronco Sport owners were asking for.

Not everybody wants a full coilover system, and honestly, that’s completely fine. We love coilovers, we build a lot of them, and for many people they’re absolutely the right solution. But we also knew there was a huge group of Bronco Sport owners looking for something simpler, quieter, lower maintenance, and more OEM-like in overall feel.

That was the entire vision behind the Trail Runner.

The Trail Runner is a complete OEM-style shock and spring assembly that lifts the Bronco Sport approximately 1.5” while improving ride quality, stability, and control on rough roads, gravel, potholes, snow, camping trails, and daily driving.

And honestly, one of the features we’re most proud of is the adjustable damping.

Because this isn’t just “a lifted shock.”

Think of it more like this:

Imagine Ford built a slightly longer-travel shock for the Bronco Sport...then added adjustment knobs so YOU could decide how soft or firm you want the vehicle to feel.

That’s exactly the experience we wanted.

Want it softer and smoother for commuting, broken pavement, and washboard roads? Easy.

Want to tighten it up a bit when the vehicle is loaded down with gear or you’re spending time on rough terrain? Also easy.

That adjustability makes a massive difference because not everybody uses their Bronco Sport the same way. Some people are daily driving them. Some are road tripping. Some are camping every weekend. Some are just tired of how abrupt the stock suspension can feel over rough surfaces.

The Trail Runner lets you tune the personality of the vehicle without turning it into a complicated project.

Another huge advantage is simplicity.

No preload adjustments.
No complicated setup process.
No constant tweaking.

Just install it and drive.

And for the people who keep asking...yes, the Trail Runner can also be paired with spacer lifts if you want to push beyond the standard 1.5” lift height.

We’re seriously proud of how this system turned out. It rides like something that belongs on the vehicle, not something fighting against it.

This has easily been one of the most requested applications we’ve had in a long time, and we’re excited to finally get it out into the world.

I assume this is only for non-Badlands, and non-Sasquatch BS's?
Bad Lands will see about 3/4”, but these are ideally for the standard trims. Most Bad Lands owners go for our full-blown GR40 suspension as It’s a little more hardcore to match those owner types.

What about 2025 OBX with Sasquatch?
It’ll end up 1.0” over where you are now. You will go from 8.8” of ground clearance to 9.8”.

If you have a Bad Lands, we have the Trail Runner Ultimate which includes strut spacers and new rear spring assemblies to get you about 2.5” of lift (maybe closer to 2.75”). This is a good setup as you can lift the front 2.5-2.75” and set the rear level or go to 3” to have 1/4” rake front to rear. This is basically a combo of our Trail Runner and Level lift kit to give you a 100% OEM feel with more travel and adjustable dampers.

Our friends at HRG Offroad have a leveling spacer.

One thing I personally noticed about a level ride height in the BS, it feels weird. The front end feels higher than the back so parking feels...off. Like when I pull in to a parking spot, it seems like it's hard to judge if I'm in my spot correctly. Another aspect is, any sort of weight in the back will end up squatting the back, so it'll look like one of those trucks where the back is on the ground. The slightly higher rear is done on purpose to counter a load in the cargo area. It looks great empty and at rest, but on a practicality standpoint, you might hate it.

Just something to consider.

Rear Shocks : Trail Runner vs OEM

The first things you’ll notice is the shock rod. Our Trail Runner increases stroke to 10.50” and we added 4mm of thickness to the rod to increase lateral strength so you are less prone to bending the shock.

Trail Runner on the right, OEM on the left.

Hey thanks so much for the insite! With that in mind, probably just going to leave it as is for now. What does the kits you have improve on the BS/BL SAS? I'm still inclined to gain some more ground clearance. I'm in FL on an island, deep sand it a real thing here. (oh and.... no sane person likes the Carolina sqaut....)

When I pull up to my driveway I just push the camera button and get a full 360 view so I can hug the side of the driveway and not pull too far forward. I sometimes use it when parking at stores. While going slow is the only time this works in normal mode and other non off road modes.....If you wanna see where you've been pushing the camera button gets you rear view at higher speeds.

That's one of the reasons I back into the garage, the 360 cam is already there for me. Another reason is if I'm unloading stuff, it's more direct into the house that way. And it's just plain habit: I was a firefighter a couple lifetimes ago, so backing in (and never getting below 3/4 tank) are just burned in.
