I was eyeballing a possible deal moving from my 2021 BL to a 2023 Heritage limited. The HL was at a Ford dealer 500 miles away.
It was a CPO with only 7800 miles. Peak Blue. After talking with a salesman on the phone and had him send better photos.
I also had him send me the paperwork with all the warranty & maintenance records. There were the typical battery issues and some Sync problems.
They made a good offer, but I passed on the deal.
It was going to cost me about $500 with a rental car, hotel and other expenses just to go there. If for some reason I didn't like the vehicle that was time & money down the crapper.
We never discussed a trade in value on my BL since I would rather have sold it here in SoCal.
I went to my local Ford dealer to see what they would offer me for my BL. 23K miles and in excellent condition. $22,500, less than I was hoping for.
I also did a CARMAX online appraisal, their offer $29,000, $6500 more than the Ford dealer.
I also did a CARMAX appraisal in November of 2024, their offer then was $26,400. So, 6 months later and with more miles , the offer was $2600 higher.
So I'm not sure why the large discrepancy in offers but it was tempting just to sell to CARMAX and take their money and buy something later.
But with the volatile market and being retired, I decided to hold off and see what's out there later in the year or next year.
