I think its automatically turned on and off, I think there is a temp sensor for the coolant that controls it but I am not sure

Yes it’s automatic it senses the temperature inside the vehicle and it either puts the heat on when it’s cold, or it puts the ac on when it’s hot. That’s what my Dealer told me by the way. Steve

Most cars do this but most cars will not give you heat until the engine warms up. This is a electrical space heater, the sensor monitors the engine temp, that gives instant heat, diesel engine trucks have this as a option, this is the only gas engine car that does this that i

I think this has been done by others for quite some time. My 2009 VW Jetta had an electric heater that worked until the engine warmed up.
