The good news is, I can take the door panel on and off in a matter of minutes now, with the help of my trusted right angle Milwaukee. The bad news, is that I only learned this because I took each door panel off to ensure that the harness they sent me was an ill fit. So I got nowhere with my install.

I guess this is what happens when you don't do a little bit more due diligence and simply take a websites "word".

But I purchased (4) Kicker CSC67. The Sonic Electonix site says they "fit for the vehicle". Now that I'm looking at Crutchfield, it says "rear only". The speakers, for whatever reason, seem like they would fit fine, on both front and rear panel, if I were to simply have the right adapters.

Can anyone help me figure this out? First maybe recommend the right adapter, and then also a confirmation on the speaker model fit?

So Crutchfield, which I should've checked at first (because they are usually pretty solid for info) says I need these

Sonic Electronix sent me the 82-4301 adapter for speaker
and the 72-5603 adapter for wiring

So Strike 1 and 2 for Sonic Electronix. Hopefully its not Strike 3 with the speakers and somehow I can get them to fit in the front with some easy modding. We will see.

Can anyone confirm the screenshot of part numbers from Crutchfield??

you gotta remove those little tabs on the inside of the speaker bracket. They can pop out with your finger

Are you talking about these? Like with a dremel or something? If so, I feel there shold be a better fitting adapter rather than having to do that.

And it still doesn't change the fact that the Metra adapter wn't line up over the factory holes.

Yes… those tabs will come out.. also make sure you have the proper bracket (Metra 82-5605)

Yeah, I don't. I noted that in the OP. So you can confirm that 82-5605 are the right ones? I'm going to order those before I fiddle with these.

Yes I just used them yesterday. You may still need to drill a hole in the side to run the wire adapter through and also drill some small holes to accept whatever screws your speaker came with

Awesome. Thank you. I guess at some point Im going to find out why Crutchfield says my Kicker CSC67 won't fit in the front door, and only the backdoor. I'm thinking there's less clerance for the speaker with the front door panelm, then there is the rear door panel, but I"m hoping maybe not using the OEM grill for the Kicker will help offset that. Maybe. We'll see. I only see these Kickers mentioned once on this board, and it seems like he used another set of speakers for the fronts.

I just installed pioneer d series and I love them! Also crutchfield said they were only comparable with the back.. really most speakers should fit in the front with the right Metra bracket. I’ve seen multiple ppl mention that they haven’t done extensive research enough to determine “perfect” fits for most speakers so they just say they don’t fit.. but in my experience (1 entire experience with only 1 speaker) it’s a lie 😂

So yeah. Wrong recomendation by Sonic Electronix when I got the Kickers. But my fault for being lazy and not doing a tad bit more due diligence.

Not only that, but was completely unaware of the 'fab work' that had to be done on the adapters regardless.

I got these 6.75 Kickers in particular for their RMS rating. This is the first step in trying to get my 5 channel amp and sub into the car. I've been delaying on it. Its basically the same setup that I had in my Mustang, since its basically the same OEM 4 channel stereo with 6.75 speakers. However, I've tried a couple of different 6.75 with my amp, and just ended up blowing them down the road. These Kickers have twice the RMS rating as those.

Since Crutchfield said they would "fit" in the rear, I tried installing them with the Kicker grill there. However, nope. Did not have the clerance to pop the door panel back in, so I had to ditch the grills in the rear. Funny thing is, that it really looked like there WAS a little bit more clearance in the fronts to get the grills in, but I didn't give it a second thought and just kept them all uniform without the grill.

Here are the crappy OEMS I took out

My next step is to also replace the tweeters with these guys.

Ford Bronco Sport Speaker Install Help IMG_5567

Again, same rockford tweeters I had in my Mustang. Those attenuators they come with are sure handy in gettting them not to be so bright, since you're essentially pumping the same wattage into them, as you are your front doors. These will take a bit more planning and better due diligence on my part.

Alright, moving right along and trying to do a bit more due diligence this time before taking a part my dash.

I have a question.

Are the OEM tweeters wired all the way to the pos/neg speaker terminals? Or is there also a plastic OEM clip that you can unfasten?

This is the only pic I could find on this site that has a good look of how the wiring comes out of the dash, but its AFTER the person snipped the OEM wires already.

The reason Im asking because I want to confirm that these might make a good possibility.

Alright, went out on a limb and just ordered them. I imagine they are clipped in. They'll be worth the money if they keep me from snipping the OEM wire.

Well, that's what I get for going "out on a limb".....a waste of money.

I found the disassembly of the pillars and the dash panel pretty easy, but wasn't prepared to snip wires and connect them back. I really wanted a seamless plug and play solution.

Truly wish I could find the right connectors.

Do you really need the OE connectors? Are you planning to put the OE speakers back in? If not, then why do you need to stick with OE connectors? I get that it makes installation easier. They're designed to make production line assembly faster less error prone. That said, there's nothing magic about them. They won't make an aftermarket installation any more durable than using any number of other widely available DIY connectors. I designed and wired the electrical system for the plane I built, and I learned a lot about what works and what doesn't. I wouldn't waste any more time trying to find OE connectors if I were you.

Zip me a private message and I'll send my phone number if you'd like to discuss.
