Spare tire addition.

On the deck the curled edge is higher for vehicles equipped with a full size spare. The deck itself not the bumper or the hatch. Maybe I should have called it the floor board.

I saw another Sport today and it had a tire holder on the back. I can’t say what model of sport it was as I could only see the back. Is that possible with a big bend with a flip up hatch? I imagine there is a bracket for that which would have to swing out before the hatch could open. The weight of a tire would be problematic, on a flip up hatch unless I put stronger door struts on. I am guessing the Sport I saw was a badlands or outer banks with a swing open hatch instead of flip up, but I don’t know if that is a thing or not. Additional benefit is I like the look of a tire on the back.

There are some hitch mounted options out there.

Well rats, I didn’t notice it was a hitch mount. I don’t have a hitch.

It took me a bit to get around to testing this out, but a 225/65 R17 does not fit in a 2026 Bronco Sport Big Bend. The floor, even in the raised position, rest on the tire, but does not rest on the side supports. This makes the floor wobble and puts the floor at risk of cracking if you put anything in the cargo area. This is only making do, not fitting. Which is fine if you are ok with that, but be fair warned the full size stock tire does not fit in a 26. I cannot speak for previous years. I will be shopping for a donut spare.
