So…..are we just going to keep getting the water pump replaced every year? Where does this end?

Yep says water pump is included so perhaps the 1st water pump is included under the factory and powertrain warranty, with the replacement given the 1yr warranty meaning water pumps 2 through n are owner expense? Otherwise why would some dealerships charge the vehicle owner to replace a water pump that is within the powertrain coverage?

I have had 3 replaced under warranty. 2 during the first 36k miles and one before 40k.
How they are being payed for by Ford I am not sure. I am still under the powertrain miles and under miles on my extended ford warranty also.

One odd thing I've found a few years back...
With my previous vehicle, I had found out from the service tech & parts guy that the part the dealer uses and installs only comes with 1 year warranty on the part, but if you buy the same motorcraft part from the parts department (or elsewhere, like Rock Auto) then it'll have the usual motorcraft part warranty of 2 years.

If I keep this I'll get an extended warranty after the factory warranty runs out. I'll have about 12000 miles on it by then.

I would think the Lemon law would apply to these Bronco Sports.

if you decide to keep it get the extended warenty before any of the factory warenty runs out. it is cheeper if the vehicle is still under the factory warenty and you can get a factory warenty extension instead of an after market warenty that doesn't cover as much.

What does the factory extended warranty cost?

Had to replace my wife's water pump and a shredded serpentine belt a couple months ago at 39k miles, not cover by powertrain warranty.

Completely insane that they won't take accountability for such a poorly made vehicle. They called it normal wear and tear lol.

Also had the rear rotors completely ground down by 12k miles which they said was normal also and not covered by warranty at the time, and now dealing with a plethora of check engine lights after going over a bump.
They quoted me 5500 to add the extended warranty now. I asked why i would do that since they don't cover anything anyway.

Luckily Im an ex-ase certified mechanic so guess who had to do it.

I wanna dump this POS so bad but my wife loves it so I guess i'll be stuck wrenching on this thing myself for the time being.

this is crazy! Gotta be an early build - we are at the same mileage and I’ve had literally 0 issues….I’ve always followed the severe maintenance schedule though.

Good morning. I can take a closer look at your water pump concerns and repairs on my end. To get started, can you please send over a message with your VIN and the name/location of the Ford dealer you have been working with?
I have not experienced the water pump issue at this time but the issue with shutter has been noted several times. I have it at my local dealership currently and from appearances the Techs may not be aware of the TSB on RDU shutter. I called the Service Manager yesterday as the Tech had stated the shutter was cylinder deactivation in eco mode. I have given the TSB number to the Manager who after discussing the issue was aware of the solution. Perhaps if water pumps, RDU shutter and Injector issues are continuously showing up Ford Engineering might want to upgrade the standards instead of replacing these items.
