Hi all. I have 2024 Bronco Sport Big Bend. When I shift into park, I sometimes hear a single beep. The tone sounds the same as the back up sensor. I do not always hear this beep when shifting into park. There is nothing behind me, so it’s not the backup sensor picking something up as I momentarily pass thru reverse while shifting into park. The owner’s manual has a note that the vehicle may make a tone when shifting into park, but it doesn’t give any details about what the tone indicates or under what conditions it occurs. I have tried all manner of experiments to see if I could figure it out, but it just seems random. It happens sometimes on inclines and sometimes on flats. It happens sometimes when I spin the selector fast and sometimes when I spin it slow. It doesn’t seem to matter how long I wait after the vehicle is stationary before I shift into park, nor how hard I press the brake peddle as I shift into park. I have spoken to Ford customer service, and they say it could indicate a problem with the vehicle. But this is not consistent with the manual. I honestly think their default is to say to take it to the dealer for anything they cannot answer. I spoke to the dealership sales department who referred me to service who doesn’t know either. I am hoping someone here will have a definitive answer.
