Silly question

I've flipped through both the quick start guide and the owners manual this morning and simply cannot figure out what the up/down arrows with the blue dash next to the trip timer are for or indicating

It just shows where you are at in the menu. As you push the up/down arrows on steering wheel you will see the blue dash move up and down as you scroll through the menus. That one had me wondering for a while too.

I mean as far as I know that's all it does.

It's the different menu screens,Trips, calm screen, radio, intelligent 4wd, tire pressure... You can choose which are in there but it basically shows where it is in the menu
