Great idea - my solution is kludgy in comparison. I will definitely consider your solution next time I load 'em up to see if these side tiedowns will work with my 17 foot sea kayak.Those are snazzy! Pro tip for the front tie down (until I get my hands on the new fold out parts): get some kayak tie down hood straps, there’s a nice bolt under the hood on each side that’s perfect for it. You can fold them out when you need them and tie down without rubbing on the front bumper paint

moves the friction point to the bottom lip of the hood instead of the bumper so I think it’s fine. Haven’t observed any kind of paint marringthat would drive me crazy thinking about that strap rubbing on the paint as I drive down the road haha
