If I buy a badlands this would be my first purchase!
do you need to lift the car to change the oil with this mod?

I’m pretty sure you won’t need to raise it for an oil change. Ironically – the only reason I would lift one side of mine before was so I could remove the OEM engine cover…
Yah my JL wrangler has spoiled me. I don’t lift it for oil changes. Once you get used to it it’s hard to go back.

If you're going to do even moderate off roading, you'll need to add skid plates on the Badlands too.

The Evap has a small skid plate, but the gas lines leading to it don't. I ripped the carpet off the driver's side the first time I took it off-road. The catalytic converter is in the center, so if you're driving in the ruts, it is scraping the ridge in the center.

With a 1-1/2" lift, a full skid plate on the driver's side and a skid plate for the cat, it is a very capable off road vehicle, but still doesn't have enough clearance to go crazy off road. It has never failed to take me where I was going.
