Just today when pulling in the drive I got a weird "whirring, and winding" type sound when I slowly turn right, it's done it consistently on 3 slow right turns, doesn't do it turning left. Taking it in Saturday to have it looked at, really worried it's RDU but that seems to be a noise from the rear? this is definitely coming from the front/engine bay area, sounds like it's almost in the passenger seat with me. Any similar issues, ideas?

So issue is the CV axle which does not fall under power train warranty, about $1400 to get it fixed, seems steep

Long shot.
There is CSP for 2022 Ford Mavericks to replace the halfshafts, Ford also extended the warranty to 150k miles.
Possibly in your case the dealer wants to replace the halfshaft and since its not actually called out in the powertrain warranty its not covered, If the complete CV axle was determined to be bad then it would be covered, I would contact Ford corporate and see what they say.
Hell, you can buy complete Motorcraft CV axles for approximately $200 dollars each and have an independent do the install if Ford wont play ball considering your warranty is about up anyway.

Thanks for tips I've done just that. Had them escalate it to service manager to see if we can work something out under warranty. If not shop down the street will do it for a fraction of the price.
