Saw this on Amazon and cringed at the thought of those two bottom posts bearing any weight on that side panel, not to mention the unrealistic angle of climbing the damn thing lol am I crazy to hate this product by just looking at it.

Manufacturers in China will design and produce the most ridiculous sh!t because its pennies on the dollar to do so, PLUS they know some idiot with money to burn in the United States will buy it.

When the guy in the photo climbs down, he’s gonna have two significant dents at the bottom of the ladder. I leaned skis against the exact same place once. Insta dent. The body panels are just thin aluminum, right?
Not to mention how us old, gimpy guys are gonna jump up on top of that tire! I bought the Sport because I knew getting in-and-out of the “big” one was gonna be a “pita” after the first time.

Somewhat better off road performance aside, the day-to-day lessor fuel economy was the deciding factor for me to go the Sport route

I think it would be cool to have something like this but for storage instead like a molle panel.

Might strap up a set of recovery bords, perhaps a kayak on my roof rack, neither of which I would consider a ladder necessary. I'm sure though, some manufacturer somewhere has a ladder that would attach to the hatch which IMHO would make more sense if I were to consider one

i honestly wouldn't mind a secure and functional ladder if not just to be able to easily climb up and sit on my roof rack.

As it sits, standing on the tires or the rear bumper is enough for me to access both roof boxes, attach or remove my solar panel or traction boards, access my fishing rod holder and load and unload canoes and kayaks from the roof rack. However, if I'm setting up new attachments, it still requires me to use step ladders or chairs to access the middle of the rack, and I don't have the coordination to climb onto the roof without damaging something (myself or the car) without having a full-size ladder next to the car.

So, there is at least one use-case for a roof rack ladder
