Thanks for the clarification (even though you said off-road, the pic looked similar to that prior post, my mistake) … I deleted my post

This video shows one important thing I was taught in the TN off-roadeo. With a great spotter, these Sports can do much better. This guy is obviously very good but if he had someone like we had in Maryville, he would have had an easy time through this whole course.

Thanks for sharing this fun video!

I thought the same thing… if only he had a spotter…. Normally I go out solo… but when I go out with certain people (you know who you are!) there idea of spotting is to yell “just send it already!” 😂

My son was spotting for me once and guided my pumpkin right on top of a stump. Oops.

With a 1-1/2" lift, and a couple of skid plates, I've gone on much worse than what the video shows.

ouch!

So he’s running the 235 tires which is 29”. I’m running the 245 which is 29.5”. However it appears the Mickey Thompson are a bit larger as they are listed at 29.8”…

tomorrow we’re installing a 1.3” lift. And I did add the mid skid plate. So my clearance should be in the 10.5” ranges. Now consider that my 23 Bronco Outer Banks was 8.4”‘stock. 🤔

Others on the forum have said that they fit without rubbing, even without a lift. Lots of people say they have 245/65 R17's on without issue, and mine are 1/2" taller and 0.3" narrower than those. Some extra rubber between me and the road will help smooth out the potholes on NM roads.

I had some KO2's on my Jeep Liberty that rubbed at full turn. But the only time you use a full turn is making a U-Turn, or off road, and both are at low speed. I never saw any wear on the tires from the rub, and the extra clearance, and traction, was very noticeable.

Is the grinding noise around 7:44 normal?:

Also, did the hp rating drop? He said 238 hp.

think the grinding noise is just the tires spinning in the dirt.

so in California and other CARB states the BS with get a Gas Particulate Filter similar to the ones found in diesels. GPF doesn’t require DEF though

I'd forgotten about the GPF, thanks!

It could be the tires spinning, it's hard to say. I was wondering if it was one or more of the clutches slipping -- hopefully as designed.

I haven't had a chance to study the AWD system, but I assume it is designed such that the clutch(es) slip before something breaks -- either off-road, or if the driver has the clutches locked on pavement.

Just a guess on the noise, it sounds kinda odd. There is the sound of tires spinning from ~7:42>43. Then around 7:44 the sound changes. IDK, could be my imagination.
