It’s been about a year since I installed the EGR hood guard and just noticed the rubbery tape that keeps the brackets separated from the hood to stop paint damage, has completely bunched up and essentially fallen off, causing the brackets to slowly back out as well. The photos aren’t the best but just a heads up to anyone considering installing them.

And my Tectico plug n play side marker lights have finally glitched out after almost exactly 9 months. I expected that to happen but not so soon.
I would avoid both but especially the egr hood gaurd due to the potential paint damage.

Is the problem with the side markers the lights themselves, or the wiring?
That’s actually a great question. I’ve seen another post on here of someone elses doing the same thing and figured it’s just what happens to these after a while but I will double check today. They are super tiny thin wires that I just wrapped In electrical tape so maybe something bumped something enough times.

How did you sort it out ?
I’ve been super busy and haven’t looked at the side marker lights yet. I’m gonna take a look this weekend though! They are sometimes completely normal and no glitch. Sometimes only half of the light works. Sometimes 1 or 2 bulbs are out. It’s probably something simple especially with how thin the wiring is. My concern is rain got into the housing of the actual light and that’s where the damage is

If it was in the wiring, none of the lights would work. My guess is that the LEDs are loose, or coming loose, on the circuit board. I would think the whole thing would be “potted” (sealed in epoxy). I can’t remember if mine are or not.
