My wife likes to use this option when parking in parking lots showing the parking space lines. The main problem with this is, it shows when in operation, a panoramic view. We were told it would be the same view as the “2020” Lincoln Corsair, which showed a straight-forward-heads on view. Is there a way to have the view of the front camera, change to a straight-forward-heads on view?

Thanks,

Steve

I'm not aware of any way to change the camera view. That would likely require a lens change. The camera is meant for off-road use; the panoramic view allows the driver to see trail features directly in front of the car to aid in choosing a line.

After watching hundreds of YouTube reviews of new and used Bronco Sports, while waiting for my ordered car, it seems that one can touch the screen and it changes the front views.

Do they sell a replacement camera that would give me a front view straight head-on picture that I am looking for, instead of a panoramic view?

Unknown. You might contact your local Ford parts department.

The front camera has 2 different views -- a wide and 'normal' view, i.e. looking out over the front edge and corners of the front bumper. You select these from the menu button in the upper left corner of the the "infotainment" screen when the front camera is ON.

I don't want my first post here to be a complaint, because I really love my Bronco Sport, but this topic interests me and I have notes...

Without some sort of guides, like the backup camera has, the front-camera not as useful as I thought it would be. It doesn't tell you where your wheels are going, or where the outer dimensions of the vehicle are.

-For off-roading, it's really only helpful if you want to make sure you're going directly over something (rock, rut, etc). But, it's not useful for getting around obstacles, or confidently following the best line through rocks/ruts/mud/potholes... because there's really no accurate way to tell where your wheels or fenders are ending up.

-For parking: Same thing, it's helpful for centering, but not really helpful for navigating tight-spaces (for same reasons as above)

I came up with an analog fix that helps a little: I put some stickers on the screen (just below it actually) that show approximately where my wheels are. It's accurate enough that I've been able to avoid running over stray shoes and stuff laying around in my garage.

As far as the 180 degree, wide-angle mode: I cannot figure out how to make this useful, on either front camera or back-up. Once again, the views don't really have any context, or really seem that different than the regular mode. I'm planning on looking into this further and hopefully figure out how to make better use of the wide-angle, split-view feature.

Agreed! I use front camera often but it’s a “coarse tool” sort of a crude guide

I'm guessing future models will have the overhead, full panoramic view which I'd really love.

Whenever I've had a rental car with that feature, I've found it really useful for parking or navigating tight-spots.

It is most useful in off roading, while cresting the top of a steep hill.
Where does the trail go on the downhill side? Straight, left or right?

Top left hand corner is an onscreen button to scroll through views.

You can change the view to a Split View. I toggle between them frequently.

Cool! I didn't know about the button to turn the front camera on. I use mine all the time so I don't hit the curb blocks when parking.
