Really like your setup. So much so I bought this rigid light kit. Can you tell me what gauge wire you used to wire your lights up? I’ll be wiring mine to an auxbeam switch box. Is 18 gauge too small?

thanks
Cool aren’t they!! I was stoked to see such a perfect little premade solution, I’d never seen anyone run them before. I used 18 gauge; they don’t draw that many amps and you’ll want the smaller gauge to be able to tuck it under the weather stripping

Were you able to tuck in the weather stripping going down the windshield? Been watching a video of removing the cover down the A pillar. Would love to be able to tuck. Save time and the possibility of me breaking something.

It probably won’t quite fit, I removed the drivers pillar trim to tuck it underneath that. Everywhere else I was able to tuck it under the striping though, including across the top of the windshield to reach the passenger side

This might be a dumb question. But the 18 gauge wire you ran is a standard 2 conductor wire? I purchased some and it seems thick for tucking. You didn’t just run the 2 wires without the wrap (just the back and red coating?). Or were you able to tuck the 2 wires in their black wrap? Does that make sense?

on a side note, would love to see a close up photo of the back side of the 2 lights.

For the first part, the wire I used did indeed have a coating on it so it was like one strand with red and black inside. Since its exterior wiring I wanted it tough. A plastic panel tool will help a lot for shoving wire down into tight places

For the second part; here you go! You’ll want to leave just enough slack to be able to angle the lights, but not enough that it’s sticking out all over

Perfect, Thank you. I do have the set of plastic trim tools. Now I know my insulated wire will fit.
