Like many here our 2022 BS OB didn't come with under hood insulation. I've read the threads and learned that
M1PZ-16738-A should be the correct p/n for the hood insulator. But when I search for the part it always shows that p/n being only for the 2021 BS. Has anyone installed the M1PZ-16738-A insulator on a 2022 BS? Thanks.

I believe it’s the same part and it’s also way backordered - I ordered through my local dealership back in April and it still hasn’t come in.

I just took this picture from my package that I just got in after 4 1/2 months on order. Mine is a 2021 but on the package it has the part number with a B at the end of the part number.

I just installed # M1PZ 16738 B on my '23 OBX. Hoods are all the same between years. Dealer got it in 3 days. A perfect fit with necessary attaching clips. Simple 10-minute DIY project. Pricy though at $202.42.

$202? OUCH! I just got mine and paid $97 delivered, and I thought that was high!

I wrongly assumed the prices would all be about the same. I used Ford Pass points. Maybe that's how they rip you off. Anyway, it's installed and looks great. I'm happy.

That's interesting. I earned 42,000 points when I bought my OBX. I bought the hood insulation pad from the same dealer. They charged me $202.00 which I paid utilizing my Ford Pass points.. I just checked the My Ford site, and my Ford Pass account is down to 1516 points. What's wrong with this picture?

Maybe the Ford rep on here could find out for me.

Is this a bulky/heavy item? I am asking cause i am trying to figure out why shipping is so high at a dealer I am trying to purchase from.

Thank you

Points are worth $0.005 each … 42,000 points is $210.

$202/0.005 is 40,400 points and 42,000 - 40,400 is 1,600 points so 1,516 points left is about right.

it pays to shop around. As you can see the dealership you purchased the hood pad from charges a lot more than other Ford shops.

Mine came in a plastic bag...it was shipped from a warehouse direct to my Ford parts department, and I picked it up. If it's coming to your house, I'd guess they will box it up, so perhaps that adds to the price. It is somewhat flimsy, and could bend easily if not handled well. And with today's shippers and delivery folks, I can see it arriving all bent up.

Nope light as a feather, it comes almost as you see it. It’s just wrapped in a clear plastic film. It also comes with the clips already installed on it.

I should get mine on Friday sometime. It's been over a month since I ordered it and I finally made it off the "waiting list" (there were at least 63 folks on the list). Shipping was cheap at about $11, so we'll see what kind of shape it arrives in. Cheers!

I dropped one of the clips and it dropped into the engine bay. Anyone have a source for these clips?

Most auto parts places have an array of clips and such that might work for you. Cheers!
