Hi, was detailing the BS Outerbanks just now and I noticed this on the drivers door side.
Does something like this constitute a warranty claim?

My body has a few minor scratches that are my fault. But can’t think of anything I’ve done that could have caused this.

Looks like the door was improperly adjusted causing the paint to wear off

That all should be covered by your factory warranty

Take a look at the gaps around that door. Also, look at the inside of the door to see if there is a corresponding mark or something that could be rubbing there.

It doesn’t seem likely it’s something you are doing without knowing it.

I suggest you start by talking to the dealer. It does look like something rubbed the paint off the bottom of the door opening. From the picture I do not think it looks like a bad paint job from the factory. Let the dealer inspect what is going on and fix what ever caused the paint to be removed. If the dealer finds something to fix and determines that there is a warranty issue that caused the paint to be removed I would think the paint would be covered under warranty. The dealer will most likely send pictures to Ford to approve the repair . Ford's response will determine what your next steps are.

I'm sure mine is going to look like that within a couple of weeks.

Looks like it could be worn from your shoe hitting there every time you get in and out.
Or the door weatherstrip. Open the door and examine the weatherstrip for signs of paint transfer. If there is, take a picture so you have proof before a crafty service tech person wipes it off and says its from your foot stepping in/out of the vehicle.

It’s easy to hit your foot there, so I Installed these Tuffskins door sill protectors.

funny you posted this. I happen to come across those and purchased a set. I just haven’t installed them yet. I did order some touch up paint. Was going to fix the spot and then install. But between my job and the weather. I just haven’t found the right time.
