I think I found the Limit of the HRG mid skid at the AWD Fest. My Fault, I got impatient with the pace of our large afternoon group (to much stop time and not enough go) and didn't wait for my brother to spot me and let someone else do it and slipped of the wrong side of a football shaped rock and dropped like 16" on to the skid plate. On a cursory, trail exam, no one saw any damage but the next day and 120 miles later, I stop for gas. on the way home and get a check engine light and a closer look reveals a good 1" deep crease starting at the front, of the plate and running about 12-16". It also broke the front most mounting bolt off/out. So, it looks like it made contact with the evap canister. Though I understand it could be the vacuum purge valve and I already tried the gas funnel insert trick. I'm getting my mechanic to check everything this week before taking it into to the dealer for some warranty/recall issues, BMS and RDU.

I had been through this same spot twice in the past, with no problem. I just need to be more patient sometimes. Usually that's my brothers problem and I'm considered overly cautious, by him, who's philosophy is "Just go".

There's an old saying in aviation circles: Slow down to go faster. Taking your time with checklists results in fewer mistakes, and flying at a slower airspeed can sometimes eliminate a fuel stop, which on a multileg trip results in a shorter overall trip.
