What online Ford parts sites are you guys using?

The Fordpartsgiant.com shipping is scary low. Has anybody bought from them?

  • Subtotal$209.87
  • Estimated Shipping & Handling$21.20
  • Estimated Tax$0.00
  • Estimated Order Total:$231.07
Other sites are over $200 for shipping.

I haven’t bought from them but purchased from several other online Ford parts sites - It’s not the shipping cost that matters - it’s the total price you have to pay - I found prices, shipping and even taxes (or no tax charged) varies a lot so I comparison shop including on the main Ford Parts Store

Oversized items can incur high shipping costs but I’ve purchased on free shipping sites that had higher parts cost but the total was often much less

And if you are lucky enough to live in an area with an internet Ford parts ā€œstoreā€ that allows you to pick up for free this might be a useful way to save money

That shipping number is with the hood pad (if needed). The whole order has $21 shipping.
I tried local Ford dealers. My dealer shows $187 online and fordgpartsgiant.com was under $107.
I won't order until I pick it up in an hour or two.

$21 is cheap. Other online Ford sites wanted $200+ when I was checking out.

Fordpartsoem.com has a good shipping rate and parts are a bit cheaper than most but they are the only one to state the hood insulation pad is discontinued. I'm waiting for part prices and shipping from Levittown Ford whom I used when I had the '23.

The hood insulation will be there. I don't think there are any BL models that haven't had it. I'd bet that's what's causing the high shipping due to size. Levittown is always cheap, but when you add in their ridiculous shipping it's normally about break even. You can always use SHIP10 code with them or ask for a discount and they will give you 10% off the shipping.

I was supposed to pick up the BS last night but was told later today. It's coming from a dealer 160 miles away in the Raleigh, NC area. So I don't know if the hood pad is there. I was assuming it isn't. I hope, like you said, it's there.
Five items, all small except for the hood pad, and shipping at online Ford sites was $200 to believe it or not, $317. WTF!

The hood pad is there in all the reviews that I've seen online. I just checked some out and it does appear that the side weatherstripping is not. I'd assume the dash panel isn't there either but I've never understood why people replace that for $50. Only the people on this forum know it's not there and it provides no functionality.

Hopefully you can get the parts you want pretty cheap. Maybe when you pickup the BS you can ask to have them ordered for you and get shipping to your dealership waived and just pick them up there? That's what I'd try before anything else.

I'm OCD. If a part was there and deleted, I want it installed. :)

It seems less common now, but in the early days of the internet, a sleazy tactic some vendors used (all products, not just auto parts) was to refuse to let the 'mark' -- I mean customer -- see the shipping cost until just before placing the order. In a few cases, not even then. You were told to place the order and after they received it they would let you know the shipping cost! Riiiight.

In most cases the shipping was calculated just before placing the order -- after entering all of he items wanted and all personal and payment info, which took much longer than it does today. No doubt the strategy was to draw the prospective customer in with low/reasonable prices, get them to take the time and effort to search for the correct parts and enter all of the info -- and then slap them with stupid high shipping charges.

Years ago, I was ordering A/C parts for our Toyota Truck from a Toyota dealer in AZ. They played that 'mystery shipping cost' game, but they claimed "Free Shipping Over $100". Their prices were OK, so I searched through their listings, found the correct part numbers (that took a while) entered all of the requested info, and then -- on the last page -- they said, "Sorry, none of your parts qualify for free shipping. Too bad, so sad." Instead of being free, the shipping was ~$60, or about $115 today.

I canceled the order and wrote them up on their local BBB website. They made the mistake of replying, which I responded to -- adding to the original write-up. I credit the BBB in AZ for publishing my review and leaving it up for years. I wasn't sure they would (thinking they may be biased toward their members).
