Does anyone knows what triggers this message?
I was not tired, driving for maybe 4 mins. Tried to trigger it by going over painted lines...nothing. Lane assist was off.

"If the system detects that your driving pattern has become irregular, it gives you an audible and visual warning in your instrument cluster to help keep you alert."
How irregular could your driving be in 4 minutes?? ?

I’ve never quite figured out this one either. In theory it’s a great idea, but yes I can’t trigger it by trying, it’ll just come on probably when I least think I’m tired. Maybe that’s the point. The closest I got one day was not paying attention & jerking the wheel IIRC. I wonder if it has something to do with steering input.

Of course if you do a full on Carrie Underwood Lane Centering can steer the car for you but then you’ll get a real error message to put your hands back on the wheel. I still haven’t quite figured it out though.

Lol to all the silly comments.
I was wondering about the "other" factors.

I'm not sure Ford publishes what precisely the system looks for to determine the driver's alertness level. The forward-looking camera is mentioned, so I think it's safe to say it's monitoring how well you stay in your lane. Anything beyond that is anyone's guess.

I was wondering if it saw something I did not. Couple of months ago on the highway, 55-60mph , nobody is in front of me....the pre collision alert got triggered.
I figured I was getting close to the invisible mobile.

Claude Rains?
And yes, the system is pretty sensitive. I've had fairly minor debris kicked up and trigger an alert. Ah well...
