Hi Judy! I can look into your Bronco's noise concern on my end. To get started, could you please send a private message over with the name/location of your local Ford dealer and Bronco's VIN?

Had that problem and fixed under that TSB last fall. Happening again and took to dealer and referenced that service bulletin. They told me it is no longer in the system. Actually, before I took it in and looked for it in the list of TSBs for my Bronco and it was no longer there. So what they told me appears to be true.
Needless to say, no fix was done this time.

TSB 24-2185 supersedes 23-2335. See the pic in a prior post.

I think this just started for me. I thought maybe it was due to me just having replaced the tires, but sounds like it is coincidental. Does it sound like tires crunching on gravel? I hear it whenever I'm slow turning pulling out of wherever I'm parked.

Yes - that is exactly how it sounded! Take it in & show them the bulletin.

This sounds like the problem we just noticed. Right before a trip to Detroit and back, a 700 mile trip. The delaership guy just said it should be safe to drive and it's not like the rear differential gets much use in summer driving,, no more off roading until it's done though!

To clarify-at low speeds and sharp right turns, like starting up after a stop sign or parking, it will make a chattering kind of noise, with maybe a slight grab and go. Hardly ever feel it on left turns, and not every time. Thought it might have been early stage wheel bearing but you never hear anything on straight roads or just a regular road curve.

I do have a 2 door Base that I can use but was hoping to use the Sport for the trip, becuase fuel economy and the Sport does better speedwise on the freeway.

So we took the BS to the dealer, and they agreed that the TSB was the problem-however the new hose is not available and has no ETA. Deciding to be the cautious type I had them change the oil in the rear drive unit, the tech described it as "gross". The OK news was that our warranty expired 3,375 miles ago so I had to pay for the oil change and if they had been able to get the hose it would have been $582 OTD.
The gnarly sounds are gone, so I think we caught it in time before damage was done. If you hear the noise you'll want to get it taken care of, espeically if you have some warranty left.

So while we are on the subject-some of the early Land Rover LR3's had a similar problem with the vent hose being too short and letting dirt and water into the pumpkins. Quite a few owners added their own extra long hoses before LR came up with a solution. I'm thinking there may be a homebrew solution to this as well.
Until then, I may change the RDU fluid at oil change intervals. Replacing the RDU is apparently a $4K repair.

Good morning. Are you still experiencing this noise concern? If so, I would like to look into it on my end. Please send over a private message with your VIN and the name/location of your local Ford dealer.

From our experience, Ford Motor Company support people on this forum will contact you and cheerfully do precisely not a damn thing. This issue is going to cause a lot of people grief if they do actually take their BS offroad. Anyways, keep an ear on that rear end and get your gear oil changed before the damage gets too severs.

Yep on company support. I'm convinced they are only on here to appear that Ford is being responsive and helpful. I've reached out to them twice after they "offered to help". Both times ended with "contact you local Ford dealership".

Jan 2025, I have A BSBB with 8500 miles. I have experienced this low speed vibration and now have taken it to a second Dealership. I as with others am concerned with the RDU gear possibly being the issue,Both Dealerships believe it is cylinder deactivation in Eco or Normal mode. I requested that a simple solution for Ford would be to empty and replace my Transmission’s and RDU fluids and check for metal flakes which would indicate excessive wear and replacement. So far no indication that they will do the simple thing. Other than this I like and enjoy my Bronco Sport. This is just an inconvenience but they do supply me with a Courtesy loaner and that is appreciated.
